Arnold Schwarzenegger Returns In Fubar Season 2

The action-comedy series debuts on June 12 with new twists and characters.

On April 4, 2025, iconic action star Arnold Schwarzenegger is set to return to the small screen in the second season of Fubar, Netflix’s action-comedy series, which will debut on June 12. The streaming giant shared the first-look images from the show on Thursday, teasing fans with what’s to come in this high-octane season.

In the upcoming season, Schwarzenegger reprises his role as Luke Brunner, a veteran CIA operative. He will reunite with his daughter Emma, portrayed by Monica Barbaro, who is also a fellow operative. Together, they face off against new villains threatening global security. One of the key twists in the season will see Luke confronting an ex-East German spy, played by Carrie-Ann Moss. This former flame of Luke’s brings more than just personal history to the table—she poses a dangerous threat to both Luke’s life and the world.

Carrie-Ann Moss, who was confirmed to join the series in May 2024, brings an additional layer of complexity to the season. Known for her roles in The Matrix franchise, Moss’ character will play a significant role in intensifying the stakes for Luke and his team. Alongside Schwarzenegger and Moss, the series also stars Monica Barbaro, Fortune Feimster, Travis Van Winkle, Jay Baruchel, Aparna Brielle, Andy Buckley, Milan Carter, Fabiana Udenio, and Barbara Eve Harris. Each will contribute to the unfolding action and drama as the operatives battle for global peace.

Created by Nick Santora, Fubar is executive produced by Schwarzenegger himself, alongside several others including Adam Higgs, Scott Sullivan, Phil Abraham, and Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Matt Thunell. With the combined expertise of these producers, the series is expected to deliver an action-packed and thrilling new season.

Fans can look forward to a mix of intense action, witty comedy, and emotional stakes when Fubar 2 hits Netflix on June 12. The anticipation is palpable as viewers recall that the first season of Fubar, which debuted in May 2023, was renewed for a second season within days of its release, despite receiving mixed reviews.

Indeed, Fubar Season 1 followed Schwarzenegger's Luke Brunner, a veteran CIA operative on the verge of retirement. However, he found out his daughter Emma (Monica Barbaro) was also a CIA operative, and they realized they didn't know much about each other. The first season wasn't a huge hit with critics; it holds a "rotten" score of 50% from the critics on Rotten Tomatoes, but a more encouraging 68% from the audience.

As the release date approaches, creator Nick Santora has promised that Season 2 will be "bananas." He stated, "We’re coming up with some real fun surprises for Fubar fans in Season 2, for sure." This enthusiasm is echoed by Schwarzenegger, who has been quoted as saying that Season 2 will be bigger and better, especially with the laughs. Given that one of the biggest complaints audiences had about Season 1 was that the jokes were largely flat, this would be an important upgrade for the new episodes.

In addition to the returning cast, Season 2 will introduce Carrie-Ann Moss as Greta Nelson, a former East German spy who also happens to be Luke’s ex. This character is set to bring a new dynamic to the show and will be a formidable adversary for Luke. Santora praised the casting, stating, "They are icons. They know how to do action, be funny, and create full and engaging characters. So it was great to just sit back and watch them do their thing." Moss herself expressed excitement about the project, saying, "We just got to have so much fun. I don’t know if I’ve ever had so much fun doing a job."

As for the plot, Season 2 will see Luke back to battle new adversaries, one of whom is his old flame (Moss), who threatens to destroy the world if she doesn’t destroy his life first. The stakes are high as the Brunner family and their team deal with shady analysts and other adversaries in their quest for global peace.

Fubar Season 2 will run for eight 60-minute episodes, with all episodes available on June 12, 2025. The show promises to blend action, comedy, and emotional stakes as the operatives work together to thwart the threats they face. Returning cast members from Season 1 include Travis Van Winkle as Aldon, Fortune Feimster as Roo, Milan Carter as Barry, Scott Thompson as Dr. Pfeffer, Fabiana Udenio as Tally, Andy Buckley as Donnie, Jay Baruchel as Carter, Adam Pally as The Great Dane, Tom Arnold as Norm, Aparna Brielle as Tina, and Barbara Eve Harris as Dot.

As the clock ticks down to the premiere, excitement builds among fans eager to see how the story unfolds. With a mix of returning favorites and new faces, Fubar Season 2 is poised to deliver an action-packed experience that could win over critics and audiences alike.
