April 2025 Brings Exciting New Releases To Streaming Platforms

Netflix, Max, and Prime Video unveil a diverse lineup of films and series for subscribers to enjoy this spring.

As spring unfolds, streaming platforms are gearing up for an exciting month of new releases in April 2025. With a mix of films and series across various genres, subscribers can look forward to a delightful array of content that promises to keep them entertained during the rainy days ahead.

Starting with Netflix, the platform is set to add several notable films, beginning with two beloved titles available on April 1: The Croods and The Place Beyond the Pines. The former, a DreamWorks animated adventure comedy, follows a family of Neanderthals navigating the prehistoric world, featuring a star-studded voice cast including Nicolas Cage and Emma Stone. Meanwhile, The Place Beyond the Pines is a gripping crime drama starring Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper, intertwining the lives of a stunt rider turned criminal and a police officer battling corruption.

Also premiering on April 1 is the 2021 romantic comedy The Hating Game, starring Lucy Hale and Austin Stowell, based on Sally Thorne’s popular novel about two coworkers forced to work together after their publishing companies merge. Following that, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler reunite in the 2008 rom-com Baby Mama, which will be available on April 16.

As the month progresses, Netflix will introduce the action thriller Bullet Train Explosion on April 23, directed by Shinji Higuchi. Other notable releases on April 1 include The Double, a dark comedy based on Dostoevsky’s novel starring Jesse Eisenberg, and the classic '90s stoner comedy Friday, featuring Ice Cube and Chris Tucker. For those interested in sci-fi, Mr. Nobody, starring Jared Leto, will also be available on April 1, exploring the concept of alternate realities.

On April 4, Max will introduce Y24, a film directed by Kyle Mooney that imagines a chaotic New Year’s Eve celebration turning into a technological nightmare. As the month continues, Nicole Kidman stars in the erotic drama Babygirl, which will be available on April 25, exploring power dynamics within a workplace affair.

Prime Video is not to be outdone, offering a thrilling mix of series and films throughout April. Kicking off with The Bondsman on April 3, starring Kevin Bacon as a bounty hunter resurrected by the Devil to capture escaped demons, this action horror series promises to deliver plenty of excitement.

On April 10, viewers can catch G20, an action thriller featuring Viola Davis as a U.S. President facing off against terrorists at the G20 summit in South Africa. The series #1 Happy Family USA, created by Ramy Youssef, premieres on April 17, offering a comedic look at a Muslim family navigating life in post-9/11 America.

Additionally, Leverage: Redemption returns for Season 3 on April 17, continuing the crew’s adventures as they take on corrupt individuals. For a unique twist, Étoile, premiering on April 24, follows two ballet companies as they exchange dancers to save their institutions.
