New tablet promises enhanced performance and intelligent features for users.

Apple has unveiled its latest iPad Air equipped with the powerful M3 chip, promising significant advancements over previous models. Introduced on March 4, 2025, this new tablet is available in both 11-inch and 13-inch formats, marking the brand's continued innovation in its line of tablets.

The iPad Air with M3 is reported to be nearly twice as fast as the M1 model and up to 3.5 times faster than the iPad Air featuring the A14 Bionic chip, showcasing the leap forward in processing power. The new M3 chip boasts an eight-core CPU with improvements of up to 35% for multithreaded workflows and features a nine-core GPU, delivering up to 40% faster graphics performance compared to its predecessor, the M1. With these enhancements, Apple aims to cater to users requiring high-performance capabilities for tasks ranging from multimedia production to gaming.

Built with Apple Intelligence, the iPad Air offers features like the “Clean Up” function within Photos, allowing users to remove unwanted elements from images easily, and the “Image Wand” feature within the Notes application for transforming rough sketches. These tools reflect Apple’s focus on enhancing user experience through intelligent applications of technology.

Accompanying the new iPad Air is the revamped Magic Keyboard, now equipped with larger trackpads and new functionalities, including USB-C connectivity for charging and magnetic attachment for easier use. This new accessory will retail starting at $269 USD. Bob Borchers, Apple’s Vice President of Worldwide Product Marketing, commented, “iPad Air is so popular because of its unmatched combination of powerful performance, portability, and support for advanced accessories, all at an affordable price.” The new Magic Keyboard aims to support the versatility and productivity required by today’s mobile professionals and students.

For buyers, the pricing of the new iPad Air models starts at $599 for the 11-inch version and $799 for the 13-inch model. Both versions come with storage options of 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB, catering to varying user needs. Pre-orders for the new iPad Air and the Magic Keyboard are available now, with products expected to ship on March 12, 2025.

Additionally, Apple has enhanced its entire iPad lineup. The base model, now referred to as the iPad (A16), features improved performance and double the starting storage capacity, beginning at $349. This model also includes the A16 chip, said to deliver nearly 30% faster processing performance than its previous iteration.

With these updates, Apple continues to position itself as a leader in the tablet market, providing compelling options for users who value performance and versatility. The combination of improved specifications, enhanced software features, and new accessories reflects Apple’s strategy to meet the diverse demands of its users, from students to professionals.

The launch of the iPad Air with the M3 chip not only highlights Apple’s technological advancements but also underlines the importance of integrating innovative features to support creative professionals and students alike.
