Apple Unveils IPad 11th Generation And IPad Air M3

With enhanced performance and new features, Apple aims to delight tech enthusiasts and professionals alike

On March 4, 2025, Apple launched two exciting new devices: the iPad 11th Generation and the iPad Air M3, marking significant upgrades for both models. With impressive new features and improved performance, these devices aim to meet the diverse needs of users, from casual consumers to creative professionals.

The iPad 11th Generation is powered by the A16 Bionic chip, which Apple claims enhances performance by nearly 30% compared to its predecessor, the iPad 10th Generation, and by as much as 50% when compared to the iPad 9th Generation powered by the A13 chip. This leap forward not only provides daily multitasking capabilities but also ensures longer battery life, giving users the freedom to engage with their devices throughout the day.

According to Apple, the A16 chip makes the new iPad significantly faster than the leading Android tablets by up to six times, offering users unparalleled performance and efficiency. The iPad 11th Gen introduces a starting storage capacity of 128GB—upgrades from previous models—which can be expanded to 256GB and 512GB. Color choices include Blue, Pink, Silver, and Gold.

The pricing strategy remains competitive, starting at 12,900 baht for the Wi-Fi model, which aligns with the price of the 64GB version of the previous iteration. For those opting for the Wi-Fi + Cellular model, the starting price is set at 18,900 baht. Though the iPad 11th Generation is currently available for pre-order, the exact release date for Thailand has yet to be determined.

Meanwhile, the highly anticipated iPad Air M3 was also unveiled at the same event. This device takes performance to the next level, boasting the M3 chip, which Apple claims is capable of handling large files and running heavy applications more efficiently than its predecessor, the M2. With its 8-core CPU, the iPad Air M3 performs multi-threaded workflows up to 35% faster than the M1 chip, and its advanced 9-core GPU provides graphic performance improvements of up to 40%. Users can expect smoother experiences whether creating vivid content or playing graphics-heavy video games.

The iPad Air M3 is rich with features, including Apple Intelligence capabilities such as Clean Up, which simplifies photo editing by removing distractions, and Search Videos, which allows for intuitive image and video searches based on natural language descriptions. Another notable feature is Image Wand, which transforms rough sketches or notes, adding visual appeal.

Available sizes for the iPad Air M3 include 11-inch and 13-inch variants, with color options of Space Gray, Purple, Starlight, and Blue. Weight is also manageable, measuring 460 grams for the 11-inch model and 616 grams for the 13-inch version. The devices sport Liquid Retina displays, ensuring crisp visuals with resolutions of 2360 x 1640 pixels and 2732 x 2048 pixels, respectively.

For photography enthusiasts, the iPad Air M3 features advanced camera technology with a 12MP Wide lens and f/1.8 aperture for the rear camera, supporting features like digital zoom and panorama. The front camera boasts similar quality with 12MP resolution and Center Stage capabilities for optimal video calls.

Pricing for the iPad Air M3 starts at 21,900 baht for the 11-inch Wi-Fi model and 27,900 baht for the Wi-Fi + Cellular model, with various configurations available from 128GB up to 1TB. The 13-inch model is priced from 28,900 baht for the Wi-Fi variant and 34,900 baht for the Cellular option. Education pricing is also available, making these devices more accessible to students and educators.

To complement their versatility, both iPads will be compatible with the newly released Magic Keyboard for iPad Air, which features improvements such as larger trackpads and additional function keys for enhanced user experiences. The keyboard attaches via Smart Connector for instant connections, making it even easier to switch between work and play.

Bob Borchers, Apple's VP of Worldwide Product Marketing, stated, "The iPad Air has garnered immense popularity due to its exceptional blend of performance, portability, and cutting-edge accessories, all within reach of more users than ever before." This sentiment echoes Apple's commitment to creating devices suitable for everyone, from university students taking notes to content creators needing powerful devices for professional use.

With these impressive upgrades, Apple is reinforcing its position at the forefront of the tablet market. The iPad 11th Generation and iPad Air M3 both promise to offer the innovation, performance, and value consumers have come to expect, ensuring they remain competitive against rising alternatives. The devices are geared for users who expect top-tier performance without compromising on portability, making them ideal for both personal and professional settings.
