The plaintiff alleges she had previously been informed by law enforcement about the existence of abuse images linked to her stored on iCloud, images captured when Apple's CSAM detection feature was active. Through her lawyer, Margaret Mabie, the woman articulated her belief: “Apple broke its promise to protect victims like me when it eliminated the CSAM-scanning feature from iCloud, allowing for extensive sharing of these horrific materials.” The lawsuit aims to introduce reforms within Apple to bolster its practices concerning CSAM and mentions potential compensation for as many as 2,680 other victims struggling with similar traumatic experiences.
