Annalisa Launches New Single Maschio And Tour Dates

The Italian pop star's latest release marks a new musical direction and sold-out concert in Milan

Italian pop sensation Annalisa has officially launched her new single, "Maschio," which hit the airwaves on May 9, 2025. This release marks a significant milestone in her musical journey, introducing a fresh direction that blends nostalgic influences with contemporary sounds. Written collaboratively with Paolo Antonacci and Davide Simonetta, who also produced the track, "Maschio" is a vibrant fusion of lexical styles from the 1970s and 1980s paired with ultra-modern electronic elements.

Describing her latest work, Annalisa states, "Maschio is a cloud. It represents a dreamlike dimension where things as we know them dissolve, invert, and recompose. It is a place in the mind where I can imagine being someone I am not. I observe myself from the outside, interpreting that role and delighting in taking possession of a new body. I enjoy it. I expand. How different can the same action, the same phrase, the same thought be when embodied by a him? What a dream it is to be him!" This introspective take highlights the song's exploration of identity and transformation.

Accompanying the single is a visually striking music video directed by Giulio Rosati, which enhances the song's thematic depth. The video oscillates between intimate moments and energetic group scenes, creating a hypnotic and dreamlike atmosphere. In a powerful visual metaphor, Annalisa alternates between her familiar self and a male representation, emphasizing the song's core message.

With "Maschio," Annalisa aims to present a more direct and impactful musical language. The song is not only a testament to her artistic evolution but also a reflection of the unique blend of Italian narrative nostalgia and international sound design that she has cultivated over the years.
