Andressa Urach Hospitalized With Pneumonia And Shares Recovery

The influencer reflects on health access challenges after her hospital stay.

On Tuesday, April 8, 2025, Brazilian influencer Andressa Urach was hospitalized after experiencing severe chest pains, sharp stabs, and shortness of breath. The 37-year-old social media personality, known for her adult content creation, took to her platforms to keep her followers updated about her health status from her hospital bed.

After undergoing a series of imaging tests, doctors diagnosed her with pneumonia and found water in her lungs. "After several exams, who seeks finds, right? The hospital asked me for a tomography, and it detected pneumonia, water in the lung. So now, knowing what I have, it’s easier to treat," Urach explained in a heartfelt post.

During her hospitalization, Urach also revealed that a friend of hers was admitted to the same hospital, diagnosed with dengue. This prompted her to caution her followers against self-medication when experiencing flu-like symptoms and body aches. "Maybe it’s just a cold, but we are being well cared for," she reassured her fans, who flooded her with messages of support.

After three days in the hospital, Urach was discharged on Friday, April 11, 2025. She shared her relief and joy on Instagram, stating, "Lili sang. Let’s live," as she celebrated her return home. Her upbeat message was a stark contrast to the serious health scare she had just endured.

Initially, doctors suspected a viral infection, but the diagnosis of pneumonia was confirmed after further tests. Urach's experience sheds light on the struggles many face when accessing healthcare in Brazil. "We came because we didn’t know what else to do. The feeling was as if a truck had been thrown on top of us. I think about how difficult it must be for those who don’t have access to a private hospital," she reflected during her stay.

Urach's hospitalization also highlighted the financial burden of private healthcare, with costs exceeding R$ 15,000 (approximately $3,000). Her candid remarks about the high cost of medical treatment resonated with many, as she expressed concern for those unable to afford such expenses.

Despite the challenges, Urach expressed gratitude for the care she received. "I’m well cared for, and I want to thank my followers for their support," she noted, emphasizing the importance of community during difficult times.

Andressa Urach's recent health scare serves as a reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of seeking medical help when needed. As she embarks on her recovery journey at home, her story continues to inspire many, highlighting both the personal and systemic challenges related to health access in Brazil.
