The results are part of a broader educational initiative by the Andhra Pradesh government to enhance digital accessibility for students.
Andhra Pradesh Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh expressed his best wishes to all students awaiting their results, highlighting the government's commitment to providing student-friendly digital services. He mentioned that the Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE) were conducted from March 1 to March 19 across 1,535 centers in the state, with over 10.58 lakh students participating.
The evaluation process for the exams concluded by April 6, followed by days of result processing and computerization. This year, the government has also integrated WhatsApp into the results announcement, allowing students to check their scores conveniently. This initiative is part of a larger trend towards digital governance in education.
Students who passed all first-year papers will have the opportunity to appear for improvement exams by paying a fee of Rs. 160 per paper, in addition to the regular examination fee of Rs. 600. Applications for improvement exams can be submitted from April 15 to April 22, 2025.
In addition to improvement exams, students can also apply for recounting and re-verification of answer scripts from April 13 to April 22, 2025. The Intermediate Public Advanced Supplementary Examinations (IPASE) are scheduled to be conducted from May 12 to May 20, 2025, allowing those who have not qualified in one or two subjects another chance to succeed.
Gender-wise statistics from the results indicate that girls have outperformed boys in this year’s examinations. Specifically, 50,314 students from Government Junior Colleges (GJCs) appeared in the AP Inter 1st year exams, with only 23,799 qualifying, resulting in a pass percentage of 47%.
The Board has also announced that students who are dissatisfied with their results can apply for revaluation, with details on the application process expected to be released soon. The passing marks required to qualify the AP Inter 1st year exams are set at 35 out of 100, which must be obtained at both the subject and overall levels.
For historical context, the overall pass percentages for the past five years are as follows: 2024 - 67%, 2023 - 61%, 2022 - 54%, and 2020 - 59%. The 2021 academic year saw no exams due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year’s results mark a notable improvement, reflecting the board's efforts to enhance educational standards and student performance.

The press conference for the result declaration took place at 11 AM, where officials discussed the results and the future of educational assessments in the state. With the successful implementation of these digital initiatives, the BIEAP aims to set a precedent for other educational boards in the country.
