Amber Alert Issued For Milwaukee Boy Abducted At Gunpoint

Authorities urgently search for 7-year-old Jamal White after he was taken at gunpoint into a white Jeep Renegade on Milwaukee’s northwest side

Milwaukee is on high alert following the abduction of 7-year-old Jamal D. White, who was taken at gunpoint on the evening of Friday, July 11, 2025. The boy was last seen near his home in the area of the 6200 block of West Hustis Street around 7 p.m., when an unknown suspect forced him into a white Jeep Renegade SUV. Authorities quickly issued an Amber Alert late that night, urging the public to help locate Jamal and bring him safely back home.

Jamal White is described as a Black male, approximately four feet tall and weighing about 80 pounds. He has short black hair and brown eyes. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a white T-shirt and black shorts. The suspect, also described as a Black male, was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a black face mask. Police have confirmed that the suspect was armed with a handgun and drove the white Jeep Renegade, which had an unknown license plate number.

The Milwaukee Police Department’s District 4 office has been leading the investigation and is urging anyone with information to come forward. They have released images of both Jamal and the suspect vehicle, hoping to leverage public assistance in this critical case. The department can be contacted at 414-935-7242, and authorities are also encouraging calls to 911 if anyone spots the boy or the vehicle.

According to the Milwaukee Police Department, Jamal was taken at gunpoint near the intersection of 61st and Hustis Streets, just moments after he had been outside his residence. The abduction was swift and violent, with the suspect forcing Jamal into the SUV before fleeing the scene. The urgency of the situation was underscored by police labeling Jamal as “critically missing” earlier that evening, a designation reserved for vulnerable individuals who may be in immediate danger.

Adding a layer of distress, Jamal’s family has spoken publicly about the traumatic event. Simone White, Jamal’s aunt, told local news that four men, all armed and masked, were involved in the abduction. She recounted that Jamal’s father was nearby at the time, returning home from a park visit when the suspects jumped out of the vehicle. “My brother was able to pull in the driveway and they jumped out right here,” Simone said. “I’m talking about one person pointing a gun to the window, the other person targeting my nephew. I feel like y’all had enough opportunity to do something to my brother, but he wasn’t the target. It just doesn’t seem like that. My brother wasn’t the target.”

Simone also expressed the family’s shock and confusion, noting that the men in the white Jeep Renegade are unknown to them. Surveillance footage from a doorbell camera provided by a family member has been shared with police, showing the suspect vehicle and helping investigators piece together the timeline of the abduction.

Authorities have emphasized the importance of public vigilance and cooperation. The white Jeep Renegade, a distinctive compact SUV, has become a critical lead in the search. Police have not yet identified the license plate number, making eyewitness accounts and tips even more vital.

Jamal’s family describes him as a “very skinny, happy, energetic kid” with a beautiful smile, hoping that despite the frightening circumstances, he will be found unharmed. “I’m sure he won’t be as bubbly when another person encounters him as he normally would be. If y’all see him, give us a call,” Simone urged the community.

The Amber Alert, issued by the Wisconsin Department of Justice in coordination with Milwaukee Police, has mobilized local and regional law enforcement agencies. The alert system is designed to rapidly disseminate information about child abductions to the public, increasing the chances of a swift recovery.

As of now, no further details about the suspect or the vehicle’s whereabouts have been released. Police continue to canvass the neighborhood, review surveillance footage, and follow up on tips. The community remains on edge, hoping for Jamal’s safe return.

This case highlights the urgency and gravity of child abduction incidents and the critical role that community awareness plays in resolving them. Authorities are asking anyone who sees the white Jeep Renegade or has any information about Jamal White’s whereabouts to immediately contact the Milwaukee Police Department District 4 at 414-935-7242 or call 911.

Jamal’s disappearance has sent shockwaves through Milwaukee’s northwest side, reminding residents of the dangers lurking even in familiar surroundings. The police department’s swift response and the Amber Alert’s activation reflect the seriousness with which they are treating this case.

With the clock ticking, every moment counts. The hope is that with the combined efforts of law enforcement and the public, Jamal White will soon be reunited with his family, safe and sound.
