The format of "Alô Juca" will be reproduced in a SBT newspaper in the interior of São Paulo. "Alô Vale" will debut on May 5, 2025, on SBT Vale. The new attraction will be presented by Giuliano Marcos, former presenter of Balanço Geral Campinas, and will air from Monday to Friday, from 11h to 13h. This will be the first time that the model created in Bahia will be adapted by another SBT affiliate. The program will focus on local news, popular participation, and service provision.
Alô Juca, a format created by journalist Marcelo Castro, which debuted in 2024 on TV Aratu, in Bahia, will gain versions in other states. The first local version of the format will debut on May 5, 2025, at TH+, an affiliate of the broadcaster founded by Silvio Santos (1930-2024) in São José dos Campos, in the interior of São Paulo. The program will be called 'Alô Vale' and will be hosted by Giuliano Marcos, who returns to the group after 13 years at Record. The 'Alô Vale' will be the first local news program on SBT actually inspired by 'Alô Juca'. The new news program will replace 'Hora do Vale' and will last two hours a day, being broadcast from Monday to Friday, from 11 am to 1 pm.
In March 2025, the Alô Juca program gained 45 more minutes of duration, starting at 11 am and ending at 1:45 pm. The station indicates a growth of 108% since the premiere. Alô Juca has become a leader in audience ratings for TV Aratu, and before completing one year on air, it gained more space on the network. The audience numbers reflect its popularity, asserting its position as a significant player in the local media landscape.
"The format presented in Salvador became a reference in popular journalism," said Nathalie Pilan Caram, the general director of TH+ Vale. "I had a successful history with Giuliano for almost three years in Campinas. When we decided to implement a popular journalism program here in São José dos Campos, he was the first name that came to my mind," she added.
Alô Juca has been described as the biggest audience phenomenon of SBT in the last decade, even surpassing Globo in Salvador. This success has prompted the network to replicate its model in other regions. The launch of Alô Vale is part of a broader strategy to enhance local programming and connect with community interests.
Giuliano Marcos expressed his enthusiasm for returning to the conglomerate, stating, "Returning to Grupo Thathi is more than an honor; it’s a privilege. Two months ago, I decided to leave the company after a successful stint at Balanço Geral in Campinas. I didn't plan on returning to television so quickly, but I couldn't resist Nathalie's invitation, who was my general director at Record and now has come to TH+ Vale. It's not every day you get a chance to implement a successful format that will serve as a showcase for other affiliates. I'm very excited to explore the city."
The new program will not only maintain the core elements that made Alô Juca a success but will also introduce new segments tailored to the local audience. While the original format is primarily focused on police news, Alô Vale will also address community issues, offer service provision, and even include a daily gossip segment. Additionally, the show will feature game segments inspired by popular programs from Silvio Santos and Gugu Liberato (1959-2019), where viewers can win prizes, including appliances.
Marcus Barreto, who has over 20 years of experience in journalism close to the people, will oversee the news department at TH+ Vale. He has previously implemented Balanço Geral in various locations and is excited about the debut of Alô Vale. "No one better than Giuliano Marcos to lead this popular journalistic program, which will blend factual reporting, special reports, service provision, and entertainment. I've worked with him in São Paulo and know his ability to convey news to the public with credibility and represent the population in their demands," he stated.
The launch of Alô Vale is part of a larger initiative by Grupo Thathi to revitalize its programming and engage more effectively with the local audience. Nathalie Pilan Caram emphasized that the station is making significant investments to improve the quality of its sets and materials, including hiring an art director to enhance the visual appeal of its broadcasts.
As the media landscape continues to evolve, local programming like Alô Vale is becoming increasingly important. It reflects a growing trend towards community-focused journalism that prioritizes viewer engagement and local relevance. With its unique blend of news, entertainment, and audience interaction, Alô Vale is poised to become a staple in the São José dos Campos media scene.
In summary, the debut of Alô Vale on May 5, 2025, marks a significant milestone for SBT and local journalism. By adapting the successful format of Alô Juca, the network is not only expanding its reach but also reinforcing the importance of local news in a rapidly changing media environment. As Giuliano Marcos takes the helm, viewers can expect a fresh and engaging approach to news that resonates with their daily lives.
