Airlines Enhance Services And Expand Routes

Cathay Pacific and Emirates bolster international travel experiences with new flights and luxury service offerings

Cathay Pacific has announced the resumption of its non-stop flights to Hyderabad, India, which is set to begin on March 30, 2025. Initially, the airline will operate three flights weekly, with plans to ramp up to five flights per week starting September 1, 2025. This move signifies another important step for the airline as it expands its footprint in India, recognized as one of its key markets.

The Hong Kong-Hyderabad flights will be operated using Airbus A330-300 aircraft, featuring both Business and Economy class cabins. This service not only connects Hyderabad to Hong Kong but also offers passengers access to Cathay Pacific's vast international network.

Strengthening Connections Between India and Hong Kong

Lavinia Lau, Cathay Pacific’s Chief Customer and Commercial Officer, expressed her enthusiasm for the resumption, stating, “We are delighted to be resuming our direct flights between Hong Kong and Hyderabad. These flights will provide customers with access to one of India’s most vibrant cities, known for its rich heritage and booming technology sector.”

The introduction of this service is expected to promote cultural exchange and boost trade relations between Hong Kong and India, supporting the airline's strategic aim to position Hong Kong as a prominent global aviation hub.

Wider Indian Network Expansion

Aside from the Hyderabad route, Cathay Pacific plans to operate 43 weekly return flights between Hong Kong and five major Indian cities by September 2025. This includes daily flights to both Delhi and Mumbai, and daily service to Bengaluru and Chennai, alongside the enhanced frequencies to Hyderabad.

Currently, Cathay Pacific operates 31 return flights per week to India, which will increase to 39 flights on March 30, 2025, and eventually to 43 by September 2025. This expansion reinforces the airline’s commitment to building strong connections between India and Hong Kong, as well as enhancing connectivity across the Asia-Pacific region.

Convenient Transfer Services

To improve the travel experience, Cathay Pacific is also enhancing its transfer services, allowing for seamless connections via the SkyPier Terminal at Hong Kong International Airport. These transfer services enable passengers to connect easily to destinations within the Greater Bay Area, including Guangzhou, Macao, and Shenzhen, all without the hassle of clearing immigration procedures at Hong Kong.

This comprehensive approach to transfers has become especially beneficial for travelers attending the Canton Fair, as the Guangzhou Pazhou Ferry Terminal offers direct access to the fair complex.

On the other hand, recent developments have also emerged from Emirates Airlines, which has rolled out its new Chauffeur-Drive Service (CDS) for First and Business Class passengers flying out of Riyadh. This premium service aims to offer travelers not just comfort and luxury but also convenience.

Available for passengers within 100 kilometers of King Khalid International Airport, the service ensures door-to-door transportation at no extra charge. For those residing beyond the range, additional mileage fees will apply. Emirates offers this option across over 70 cities globally, ensuring its presence is felt not only high up in the skies but also on the ground.

Seamless Booking for the Chauffeur-Drive Service

Travelers can easily arrange for the Chauffeur-Drive Service using the 'Manage My Booking' section on the Emirates' website or by contacting their call centers or travel agencies. This provides travelers with the assurance of smooth transit from the moment they step out of their homes.

Luxury Commitment to Saudi Arabia

Emirates' ambition to serve Saudi Arabia is evident through its recent improvements to its services. An investment of US$5.4 million has led to the establishment of a luxurious 900-square-meter lounge at King Abdulaziz International Airport, which can accommodate up to 190 guests at any one time.

The airline has also refurbished its Boeing 777 aircraft, which debuted this month, boasting upgrades such as enhanced Business Class seating and Premium Economy options aimed at delivering superior comfort and privacy.

Emirates’ commitment to Saudi Arabia’s long-term Vision 2030 plan is solidified by enhancing international connectivity, boosting the tourism sector, and supporting the country’s economic growth.

Continued Investment and Partnership Growth

The Dubai-based airline doesn’t just limit its service offerings but is also extending its local partnerships within the region. A recent extended interline partnership with flynas has opened up more travel options across the networks of both airlines, enhancing the reach for customers.

Widespread Flight Availability

Currently, Emirates operates 72 flights weekly between Dubai and various Saudi Arabian cities, including Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Medina. This expansive operation reinforces Emirates' standing as one of the leading international airlines serving the region.

Latest Developments

Both Cathay Pacific and Emirates are making significant strides in enhancing airline services and route expansions to meet the growing demands of travelers. With greater connectivity, improved services, and luxurious passenger options, the airlines are well-positioned to cater to the needs of international travelers and boost tourism across respective regions.
