Air France Launches Direct Flights From Riyadh To Paris

The new service enhances connectivity for business and leisure travelers, starting May 20, 2025.

In a significant development that reflects the strengthening ties between Saudi Arabia and France, Air France has officially announced the launch of direct flights between Riyadh and Paris Charles de Gaulle, set to commence on May 20, 2025. This new service is designed to enhance connectivity for both business and leisure travelers, creating a direct link between two of the world’s most vibrant capitals.

Initially, the airline will operate three flights per week, increasing to five flights weekly in June, in response to expected growing demand. The introduction of this route is part of Air France's broader strategy to solidify its presence in the Middle East, a region characterized by rapidly expanding tourism and business opportunities.

The Riyadh-Paris route will be serviced by the state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900, a long-haul aircraft renowned for its passenger comfort and efficient design. With 324 seats available—comprised of 34 in Business Class, 24 in Premium Economy, and 266 in Economy—passengers can expect a premium travel experience. The Business Class cabin will feature seats that convert into fully flat beds and provide direct aisle access, while the Premium Economy offers an enhanced travel experience with more comfort.

Stefan Gumuseli, General Manager of Air France-KLM India and the Middle East, expressed his enthusiasm for the new service, highlighting Saudi Arabia's importance to the airline. He stated, “Saudi Arabia remains a key market for the Air France-KLM Group, and this new service is a testament to our ongoing expansion in the region. Riyadh and Paris are both strategic hubs for business and leisure travel, and we are proud to provide more connectivity between these two cities and our wider global network.”

Air France's expansion in the Saudi market not only reinforces its operational footprint but also aligns with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 initiative, which aims to bolster tourism and position Saudi Arabia as a leading global tourism and business destination. With Paris serving as a major European gateway, the new route will also facilitate seamless connections to over 190 destinations worldwide within Air France’s extensive network.

This latest development complements the existing interconnections within the Air France-KLM Group, as all three of its airlines now operate flights to Saudi Arabia. KLM already provides service from Amsterdam-Schiphol to both Riyadh and Dammam, while Transavia France has been connecting Paris-Orly and Lyon to Jeddah since December 2024. The initiation of direct flights to Riyadh underpins the airline group's response to the increasing demand for travel between Europe and the Middle East.

The strategic launch of these direct flights has garnered attention among business leaders and travelers alike, reflecting an increased interest in travel between the two regions. With the growing demand for business engagement, the ability to fly directly to Paris from Riyadh caters effectively to the needs of corporate customers and leisure travelers who seek greater accessibility and convenience.

The Airbus A350-900, which will operate the Riyadh-Paris service, is acclaimed for its advanced technology and fuel efficiency. Passengers can expect a quieter cabin experience and modern amenities throughout the flight, making for a more enjoyable journey.

“Further this development will also strengthen the existing partnership between Air France and Saudia Airlines,” Gumuseli added, noting the importance of collaboration in the aviation sector. This partnership is expected to not only enhance travel options but also stimulate economic ties between France and Saudi Arabia.

As the aviation landscape continues to evolve, Air France remains sharply focused on expanding its reach and providing travelers with increased choice and flexibility. The addition of the Riyadh-Paris route is a clear indication of the airline’s commitment to high-growth markets and its optimism in the potential of Saudi Arabia as a vital aviation hub.

With this new route, Air France is well-positioned to cater to the significant number of travelers looking to explore both Saudi Arabia and France, reinforcing its status as a preferred airline among those who prioritize quality service and unique travel experiences.

As the inaugural flight approaches, many anticipate the positive impact this development will have on both local and international travel dynamics. Stakeholders within the tourism and business sectors expect the direct flights to lead to increased collaboration and growth opportunities, benefiting both nations in the long term.

In conclusion, the launch of direct flights between Riyadh and Paris signifies not just a logistical achievement for Air France but also a testament to the deeperening relations between Saudi Arabia and France, as both countries look toward a shared future filled with promise and opportunity.
