Abu Dhabi, March 10, 2025 – AIQ, a subsidiary of Presight, has announced the signing of a $340 million contract with the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) to deploy the ENERGYai artificial intelligence solutions across its exploration, development, and production activities. This significant agreement follows the success of the trial phase, which demonstrated remarkable improvements in operational activities.
The purpose of the ENERGYai initiative is to utilize advanced AI solutions to bolster operational efficiency and reduce carbon emissions significantly. The deployment will leverage 70 years of Adnoc's historical data, integrating Large Language Model (LLM) technology with comprehensive AI to support mission-critical tasks ranging from seismic analysis to geological modeling.
"We aim to strengthen our position as the most empowering energy company for AI technologies globally," said Musabih Al Kaabi, CEO of Exploration, Development, and Production at Adnoc. He expressed his excitement about collaborating with AIQ to broaden the scope of the ENERGYai solutions across all of Adnoc’s operations, reinforcing the company's commitment to sustainability and maintaining its status as a reliable energy supplier globally.
Magzan Kinispay, acting CEO of AIQ, highlighted the transformative nature of this partnership, stating, "This agreement is transformative for us, representing the first of its kind globally. It allows us to deliver unprecedented efficiencies and help reduce carbon intensities, thereby supporting Adnoc’s sustainability ambitions." He emphasized the solution's capacity for enabling engineers to interactively engage with Adnoc’s proprietary data, enhancing productivity and unlocking new opportunities for optimizing operations.
AIQ has developed the ENERGYai solution with input from Adnoc's experts and collaboration with G42 and Microsoft. The system will also integrate cutting-edge technologies, including Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform, AI agent platforms, and the Open Subsurface Data Universe (OSDU) framework.
"We are committed to fostering the growth of AIQ to drive innovation and deliver lasting value to the energy sector," said Thomas Bramoetidham, CEO of Presight. He underscored the importance of this partnership, reinforcing its potential to shape the future of applied AI development and integration within the energy domain.
The anticipated rollout of the ENERGYai solution is expected to reach completion by mid-2025, with the deployment encompassing five AI agents dedicated to specific tasks within subsea operations. Testing will be conducted across multiple assets within the exploration, development, and production sectors, with plans to expand their reach to cover thousands of additional wells throughout the contract’s duration.
The implementation of ENERGYai will be part of broader efforts to deploy advanced AI across more than 28 productive oil fields operated by Adnoc, which includes some of the world's largest and lowest carbon intensity oil fields.
AIQ's collaboration with Adnoc marks not only a significant financial commitment but also highlights the energy sector's increasing move toward digital transformation and the adoption of artificial intelligence solutions. This evolution is anticipated to lead to improved performance, increased sustainability, and overall enhanced effectiveness across the oil and gas industry.
The future of energy is undoubtedly being reshaped by innovations such as the partnership between AIQ and Adnoc, which is setting new standards for efficiency and sustainability within the sector. The results of this collaboration will serve as benchmarks for other companies seeking to integrate AI technologies for elevated operational performance and reduced environmental impact.
