AFL Fantasy Unveils 2025 Season With New Features

Fans Embrace Enhanced Draft Experience and Salary Cap Improvements

With the 2025 AFL Fantasy season officially launched, fans are buzzing with excitement over the new enhancements. A standout change this year is the salary cap, which has been set at $17.8 million for the Classic format. This adjustment aims to encourage even more competitive gameplay among fantasy enthusiasts.

But what makes this season even more thrilling is the significant upgrade to the Draft platform. According to AFL Fantasy, "Get ready for an awesome ride through all the cool new features we've got for you!" These improvements promise to make the drafting experience much smoother and user-friendly, ensuring participants have all the tools they need for success.

AFL Fantasy Classic remains the most popular game within the platform. Coaches are required to select a squad of 30 players under the newly established salary cap. The new rules are set to keep the gameplay dynamic and entertaining. Participants must adapt their strategies, balancing premium picks and cost-effective players to maximize their allocations.

Each squad includes 22 on-field players and eight reserves, with the team composition once again comprising eight defenders, ten midfielders, three rucks, and eight forwards. One player can also be selected as utility, enhancing the strategic options available to coaches as they navigate the balance between star talent and budget-friendly options.

Engaging with friends has always been at the core of AFL Fantasy, and this year is no different. Fans can establish head-to-head leagues, with four to 20 friends competing against each other. Many leagues are opting to make AFL Fantasy Draft their game of choice, where managers engage more intimately with their selections through initial drafting sessions. Each coach picks players one at a time, making choices based on strategies and anticipated rival selections.

The Draft platform boasts several new features including the ability to start drafts and adjust queues seamlessly. Past players can be placed on the Injury Reserve without dropping them, allowing coaches to manage injuries efficiently. This added flexibility means coaches have more power at their fingertips during gameplay.

Practicing with mock drafts has also become more accessible than ever, allowing participants to familiarize themselves with various strategies and player rankings pre-season. Other features, such as advanced scoring presets and detailed league histories dating back ten years, provide ample opportunities for players to analyze and adapt their gameplay.

The dynamic nature of AFL Fantasy is poised to keep participants strategically engaged for all 2025, as fans can not only enjoy tracking their fantasy teams live through AFL's Fantasy website but also analyze performance statistics through the AFL Live Official App.

Last season’s top players, such as Rowan Marshall, who averaged 117.1 points, and rising stars, create excitement around their participations for the upcoming season. Analytics from prior seasons serve as foundational resources as participants build their ideal teams before the season kicks off, channeling their inner AFL coaches.

With the official commencement set for Round One, just after the opening round, fans are preparing to optimize their squads. Whether it's forming leagues or scouting for valuable players among the newcomers, there’s no shortage of excitement as the 2025 AFL Fantasy season gears up.

Those wanting to join this year’s race can register and create their teams now. Are you ready to draft, compete, and strategize? The 2025 season is waiting!
