AEON MALL Dainichi in Osaka's Moriguchi has undergone a significant transformation, marking its first major renewal since opening 19 years ago. On March 28, 2025, the shopping mall unveiled its first phase of renovations, introducing 17 new stores and enhancing a total of 42 existing shops. This revitalization aims to cater to families and enhance the shopping experience for all visitors.
The cinema complex, now known as AEON Cinema Dainichi, has been revamped to feature a retro American atmosphere, evolving into more than just a venue for movies—it's now an entertainment theater that promises a unique experience for moviegoers.
Among the notable new additions is a large-scale amiHoYo sales floor at the Future Bookstore, which offers a wide array of comic goods, anime merchandise, and smartphone game applications. Additionally, the electronics retailer Joshin has undergone renovations, while GU has expanded its sales floor and relocated within the mall.
Another exciting development is the reopening of the Bandai Namco Cross Store, which focuses on character goods and events, providing visitors with fresh entertainment experiences. Fashion enthusiasts can look forward to new brands, including BREEZE, which specializes in children's clothing, and SI Shu Non, both of which have opened on the second floor.
The third floor showcases the debut of GORGE, a fashion brand that emphasizes stylish and sexy designs, and CRB, which is making its first appearance in western Japan. Outdoor brand go slow caravan has also opened its doors on the same floor, catering to those who enjoy nature and outdoor activities.
ABC-MART has expanded its sales area and has reopened as ABC-MART/ABC-MART SPORT, offering a broader selection of footwear and sports apparel.
Shoppers can also enjoy a variety of new dining options at the food court. On the second floor, Huang Lan, known for its Chinese noodles, tantanmen, and dim sum, has opened alongside Okinawa Soba Mensore. The restaurant Gyukaku has made its debut on the fourth floor, bringing a creative yakiniku experience to the mall, while a second Starbucks Coffee location, SHIBANIWA, has also opened on the third floor.
Families will find plenty of amenities designed for children, including a newly established free playground called SHIBANIWA on the third floor of the AEON section. This space features a spacious lawn where kids can play safely, along with a large digital signage area that offers AR experiences. An outdoor terrace provides a relaxing spot for shoppers to unwind.
In addition, a mamaro baby care space has been introduced adjacent to the food court, offering a comfortable environment for nursing and diaper changes.
The core store of AEON MALL Dainichi, AEON Style Dainichi, has also undergone a significant renovation. The fashion floor has been refreshed with six new specialty stores. These include TVC, which focuses on basic casual wear for men and women, SELF+SERVICE, which specializes in ethical products, and noannu, which caters to plus-size clothing.
On the occasion front, shoppers can find stylish options for families in their 30s and 40s, as well as formal wear for middle-aged individuals. For those who lead active lifestyles, stores like PARTII BY JUNKO SHIMADA and Kirakumi provide comfortable and functional apparel.
The fashion floor also includes a section dedicated to sportswear and goods that promote health and fitness. Customers can explore the latest trends at ASBee, a shoe store, and +MOOVE, which specializes in travel essentials.
The kids' area, Kids Republic, has been significantly enhanced, offering age-specific sales floors and new toy models. The baby specialty store corner caters to children aged 0 to 3, featuring original brand clothing and accessories designed with safety and nutritional value in mind.
For children aged 3 to 6, KIDS REPUBRIC UNIVERSITY showcases a variety of brands and functional apparel, while the KIDS REPUBRIC UNIVERSITY (School) section targets ages 7 to 12 with trendy items and AEON-exclusive brands. MONTOYS, a new hobby store, combines merchandise with interactive experiences, featuring trading cards and board games.
As part of the ongoing renovations, AEON MALL Dainichi promises to continue evolving, with further updates planned through autumn 2025. The first phase alone has transformed the mall into a vibrant and enjoyable shopping destination.
In addition to AEON MALL Dainichi's updates, AEON Retail has also opened a new shopping center, Soyo-la Naga-hara Ekimae, in Hirano Ward, Osaka City, on April 28, 2025. This marks the sixth store in the Soyo-la brand within Osaka Prefecture.
Soyo-la Naga-hara is strategically located in front of Naga-hara Station on the Osaka Metro Tanimachi Line, ensuring easy access for shoppers. The center aims to be a new lifestyle hub in the South Osaka area, promoting community interactions through various events and activities.
The core store, AEON Style Naga-hara Ekimae, emphasizes local production and quality, offering fresh foods, deli items, and frozen foods to support daily dining needs. The health and beauty care section will feature trendy Asian cosmetics and a pharmacy to cater to diverse customer needs.
The shopping center will also include casual clothing, shoes, hats, and other accessories, fulfilling the everyday shopping desires of families. A lawn plaza and open terrace will serve as community spaces for local events and interactions.
With approximately 140 parking spaces and 580 bicycle parking spots, Soyo-la Naga-hara is designed to facilitate access for all visitors.
