Dayle Haddon, the celebrated Canadian actress and model, has tragically passed away at the age of 76 from suspected carbon monoxide poisoning. The screen star, who gained fame during the 1970s and 1980s, was found dead on December 27, 2024, at her son-in-law's home located in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
Authorities reported being alerted early on Friday morning when they received calls about an unconscious man lying on the floor of a detached suite. Responders discovered the man, aged 76, before they located Haddon on the second floor, tragically pronounced dead at the scene after efforts to revive her failed.
Local police have indicated the suspected source of this deadly incident as a faulty boiler. Detective Sgt. Jonathan Koretzky from the Solebury Township Police Department highlighted, “Preliminary investigation is showing...exposing a large amount of carbon monoxide within the carriage house.” The high levels of carbon monoxide prompted the involvement of firefighters, who found substantial concerns upon scanning the property.
Two paramedics accompanying the emergency response were also reported to have been hospitalized due to carbon monoxide exposure, with officials confirming their stability thereafter. Fortunately, no one else present in the main house, owned by Haddon’s daughter, journalist Ryan Haddon, and her son-in-law, actor Marc Blucas, suffered injuries.
Carbon monoxide is often dubbed the silent killer for its inability to be detected by smell or sight. Exposure to high concentrations of this gas can result in severe health complications and even death. It originates from poorly maintained appliances such as gas boilers, fireplaces, and portable generators, leading to the importance of regular safety checks.
