MISSISSAUGA, Ontario — The 2025 Canadian International Auto Show (CIAS) is gearing up to captivate auto enthusiasts and families alike, showcasing the latest innovations from various automakers. The show will take place from February 14 to 23, 2025, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, featuring both indoor and outdoor test tracks where visitors can experience the latest electric vehicles firsthand.
Major automotive brands have committed to this year’s CIAS, including Nissan, which celebrates its 60th anniversary in Canada. The company will display two remarkable project builds alongside three all-new 2025 vehicles: the Kicks, Murano, and Armada. Brent Smith, the director of marketing at Nissan Canada Inc., expressed enthusiasm about participating. "We are thrilled to be part of the 2025 Canadian International Auto Show, especially as we celebrate Nissan’s 60th anniversary in Canada. This milestone is a testimony to our long-standing commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction," he said.
Nissan will highlight unique project vehicles like Project Trailgater1, based on the 2025 Frontier PRO-4X, which is specially equipped for tailgaters and outdoor enthusiasts. This build includes NISMO accessories such as high-performance suspension systems and even features like weatherproof TVs and powered coolers.
Another spotlight will be the Frontier TARMAC Concept2, developed through collaborations with Nissan Motorsports and Forsberg Racing. This eye-catching street truck showcases both aesthetic and performance enhancements, offering over 400 horsepower and carbon fiber accents. Together, these projects are set to demonstrate the versatility of Nissan’s vehicles.
INFINITI will also make headlines at the show, showcasing its latest models including the all-new 2025 QX80 and the QX60, which features the new Black Edition trim. Ken Hearn, managing director of INFINITI Canada, remarked, "We invite you to join us to explore INFINITI’s full line up and experience our Total Ownership Experience, reflecting our commitment to luxury and innovation." The QX80 exemplifies INFINITI's dedication to superior craftsmanship, blending sophisticated design with cutting-edge technology.
After five years, Mercedes-Benz will return to the CIAS, bringing with it nine historic vehicles, including the highly anticipated G 580 with EQ Technology, the brand’s first fully electric version of the iconic Geländewagen. Jason Campbell, the General Manager of CIAS, said, "We are excited to welcome back fan favourite Mercedes-Benz to the show after five years." Their return signifies the importance of the event as more than just practical showcases of automobiles but also as displays of brand heritage and history.
The 2025 CIAS will leverage last year’s success, which attracted record crowds of 371,500 attendees, exceeding expectations. Campbell pointed out, "It’s a world-class show with bigger displays and new layouts," emphasizing the show's consumer orientation, focusing on direct engagement with car shoppers.
A key feature this year is the indoor EV test track, highlighting the importance of electric vehicles as the industry shifts toward sustainable driving options. With over 50 vehicles available for test driving, visitors will have the opportunity to get behind the wheel and experience new technology firsthand. Excitingly, outdoor driving experiences will also be available, drawing more families and auto enthusiasts to the convention center.
The CIAS isn’t solely about cars; it’s about community and inclusivity. Families can enjoy various attractions, including the return of the Camp Jeep obstacle course, providing 4x4 enthusiasts with thrilling rides. Kids and adults alike can look forward to exhibits from Lego, showcasing life-sized models, and Mattel, with 50th anniversary displays of Bigfoot and other fan favorites.
Not all manufacturers participate uniformly; some, like Honda and Volkswagen, remain absent. Campbell noted the strategic decisions from brands, indicating the competition for space at such significant events. "There are more auto manufacturers here than at the New York City and Los Angeles shows," he remarked, emphasizing the affluent Toronto market's capacity to host top-tier automotive displays.
The Canadian International Auto Show continues to attract considerable attention from industry players nationwide, preparing to host the annual Car of the Year Awards, judged by automotive journalists across Canada. The anticipation surrounds who will take home the accolades this year.
With ticket prices set at $30 for adults and $63 for families, the CIAS aims to remain accessible, encouraging wider community participation. Discounts and additional details are available at autoshow.ca, where everyone interested can plan their visit to Canada’s premier automotive event.
From new electric models to luxury displays and unique festival-style experiences, the 2025 Canadian International Auto Show promises to deliver something for everyone, fulfilling its mission of celebrating automotive ingenuity and consumer engagement.
