A tragic motorcycle rodeo accident claimed the life of 17-year-old Zainou S. on Thursday evening in the Basseau neighborhood of Angoulême. The incident occurred around 5:30 PM, when Zainou, riding his red motocross bike, collided head-on with a white Opel at the intersection of Rue Saint-Vincent-de-Paul and Rue Guy Riffaud.
Local law enforcement described how Zainou was attending what had turned out to be a chaotic motorcycle rodeo event when his bike and the car collided directly at the pedestrian crosswalk. According to Commissioner Jean-Luc Taltavull, who was on the scene, “They collided head-on.” The initial response from emergency services was swift, but unfortunately, Zainou suffered severe injuries.
