WHO Launches Global Crowdsourcing Campaign For Health

The initiative invites public participation to support health as a universal right through donations and awareness.

The World Health Organization (WHO) is taking significant strides by bolstering the global crowdsourcing campaign aimed at raising awareness and funds for health initiatives worldwide. This initiative, dubbed "One Dollar, One World," began as grassroots activism and has matured, calling for collective action to promote health as a human right.

Launched earlier this year, the campaign has already seen nearly 5,000 participants from over 140 countries donate, reflecting strong global solidarity for advancing health objectives.

WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus praised the grassroots origins of the movement, crediting employee Tanya Chernuski for her inspiring vision. "This shows how, in crisis situations, people around the world can come together to commit to protecting and enhancing the health of others," he remarked.

Chernuski noted the campaign's transformative power, saying, "This initiative began with one person, but now it's all of us.
