Motorists should take note: starting Thursday, February 27, 2025, all categories of vehicles will face significant traffic disruptions on DN 7 as officials implement detours to accommodate the passage of oversized loads. Beginning at 6:30 AM, traffic will be diverted from DN 7 onto the A1 highway between the towns of Ilia and Bătuța.
Between Bătuța and Zam, road access will be limited solely to local residents. This alteration has been orchestrated by the Regional Directorate of Roads and Bridges Timișoara, working closely with the Road Police to facilitate the installation of flyover systems necessary for the oversized transport.
The oversized convoy, which carries a generator intended for the modernization of the Mintia thermal power plant, will navigate through the region and will continue its route along DN 7 after traversing key structures within the area.
Potential delays are anticipated, and authorities are advising drivers to adhere strictly to the temporary road signage. "Drivers are advised to respect the temporary signage and to use alternative routes to avoid delays," emphasized the Regional Directorate of Roads and Bridges Timișoara.
After crossing the structure near Zam, the oversized load will resume its travel along DN 7 until reaching the Ilia motorway junction. Following this, it will proceed onto the A1 highway heading toward Deva and Timișoara.
The convoy is expected to cover approximately 10 kilometers before heading off onto specially constructed technological roads near the Grind junction, continuing on DN 68 A toward its final destination at the Mintia power plant, located within Hunedoara County.
