Social Assistance Programs Support Communities Across Indonesia

Educational support and relief efforts demonstrate collective commitment to community welfare during Ramadan.

Program BSI Explore 2025 has recently demonstrated its commitment to enhancing education in Indonesia by distributing books and school supplies to students at SD Panggung Jaya, located in Desa Kaputihan, Tasikmalaya. Through this initiative, BSI Explore 2025 aims to improve educational quality in remote areas by providing students with the necessary resources.

On February 24, 2025, BSI Explore 2025 delivered 110 packages of books and supplies to students ranging from first to sixth grade, effectively reaching 110 children. This program seeks to guarantee adequate learning materials for students to support their educational processes. "We hope this support will encourage students to be more active and passionate about their learning," said Yani Sri Mulyani, lecturer at BSI Explore 2025, during the symbolic handover.

Simultaneously, Sulaeman, the head of SD Panggung Jaya, expressed deep gratitude to BSI Explore 2025 for its support. "We are very thankful for the assistance of these books and supplies. Our hope is for this assistance to provide not only short-term benefits but also to create lasting positive impacts on our students' motivation to learn," he remarked.

The program exemplifies the power of collaboration between institutions and communities to create positive change within the educational sector. With support from various parties, it is hoped more schools, particularly those in remote regions, can experience similar benefits, not only materially but also by boosting children's spirits to study diligently.

Meanwhile, the local government has actively involved itself in channeling other forms of social assistance. Bupati Bengkalis, represented by Johansyah Syafri, attended the symbolic distribution of 100 social assistance packages as part of the Bakti Sosial (Baksos) Polri Presisi, held at the Polres Bengkalis auditorium on February 27, 2025. This event involved collaboration with students from various local educational institutions.

"This community service event reflects our collective social responsibility to assist those in need, and I hope we can all gain blessings from this initiative," stated Kapolres Bengkalis, AKBP Budi Setiawan, who welcomed the collaboration's notion, as it fosters relationships among the police, Bupati, and local students.

At the same time, efforts led by the Seram Bagian Timur Police through the Baksos Polri Presisi were celebrated for their active role during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan. During this initiative, Kapolres SBT, AKBP Agus Joko Nugroho, emphasized the event's significance fostering cooperation among the police, students, and the community to support those who need assistance. "This activity is not only about giving; it's about creating bonds and unity among Indonesian citizens," he remarked, highlighting the imperative of nurturing mutual support within society.

Further reinforcing the commitment to social welfare, the House of State Savings and Management (Rupbasan) in Banjarmasin organized another social assistance activity on February 27, where they distributed food packages—consisting of rice, milk, and other necessities—to local residents. This program aligns with the broader framework initiated by Minister of Immigration and Law, Agus Andrianto, featuring 13 social acceleration programs targeting families of correctional inmates and surrounding communities.

Hasudungan, head of Rupbasan Banjarmasin, explained, "This social involvement not only serves those recipients but aims to instill greater awareness of social responsibility within our institution, making it part of our regular monthly agenda to help our neighbors."

On the same day, Polres Berau joined forces with local students to address the needs of families suffering from the impacts of recent fires in their community. Under the leadership of AKP Agung Widodo, this outreach provided food and moral support directly to the victims. "We are here to lend our hand and hope this assistance will alleviate some of their daily needs," noted AKP Novita Citra Mega Restika, focusing on the imperative of police engagement with the community, especially amid times of disaster.

These diverse initiatives exemplify the collaborative efforts of educational institutions, government, and police forces to uplift communities and respond to their pressing needs. By actively engaging with the public and providing much-needed assistance, these programs promote social solidarity and demonstrate the determination to work for Indonesia’s welfare together.
