Snow Man Launches Best Album For Fifth Anniversary

Group to release first best album featuring 61 tracks and stylish new visuals

On November 30, popular idol group Snow Man made headlines by announcing the release of their very first best album titled The Best 2020 – 2025 on January 22, 2025, coinciding with their fifth anniversary debut. This major announcement came during a live stream from the Fukuoka PayPay Dome, where the group performed their debut single, "D.D."

The new album boasts 61 tracks, including fresh songs alongside their favorite hits from the past five years. This includes two new music videos, promising fans plenty of new content to enjoy. To mark this celebratory event, the group unveiled their stylish new visuals, dressed in elegant tuxedos, perfectly encapsulating the essence of their fifth anniversary celebration.

Alongside the music, the set showcases 30 music videos, covering various aspects of their work. Fans can expect to find previously released "Dance Practice" and "Performance Videos," amounting to 35 videos, as well as nine music videos featuring solo performances from various members for the first time. This rich array of content highlights the group's diverse artistry and commitment to their craft.

Disc 1 of the album contains 15 tracks, extending from their debut single to their latest release, "BREAKOUT / Kimi wa Boku no Mono." Two new songs, "SBY"—written as the theme song for the film Trillion Game starring member Ren Meguro—and "Dear," expressing gratitude to their fans, are included. Disc 2 is specially curated with popular tracks from their four previous albums, gathering highlights of their musical evolution.

Special editions of the album will also provide curated selections; the first press edition A will contain songs chosen by the members themselves, and edition B will feature tracks curated based on fan surveys conducted within their official fan club. The standard edition will include new theme songs for major brands, such as the LOOK chocolate series from Fujiya.

The album will feature unique elements like behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with members discussing the creative process, allowing fans to get closer to their favorites. The various formats available—be it CD, DVD, or Blu-ray—will cater to different fan preferences, enhancing their experience.

Snow Man members expressed their excitement during the announcement, with Daisuke Sakuma humorously praising their new visuals. He particularly enjoyed the stylishness of their new photos and could not hide his joy. The group’s ability to engage not just musically but also visually plays to their strengths as entertainers.

Current group leader Hikaru Iwamoto, who underwent surgery to remove a benign tumor from his nose, received emotional support from his bandmates during the live event. Despite his absence, the energy of his group kept the spirits high as they performed, underscoring their solidarity. Members like Tatsuya Fukazawa light-heartedly called out to him through the camera, showing how much their teamwork ethos shines—even when challenges arise.

Fans flooded social media with enthusiasm after the announcement, with many expressing their eager anticipation for the new songs and music videos. One user exclaimed, "This is too exciting! I can’t wait to listen to 'Dear' and see all the MV releases!" Another chimed in about the thrill of some solo tracks finally making it onto the album, emphasizing the dedication and anticipation surrounding these long-awaited releases.

Pre-orders for the album began on November 30 at 9 PM Japan Standard Time, with various retailers offering different exclusive perks for early buyers. This strategy not only furthers excitement but also rewards hardcore fans who want to support Snow Man through their career milestones.

Snow Man's best album release not only encapsulates their past achievements but also sets the stage for their future endeavors, demonstrating their growth and adaptation within the rapidly changing J-pop industry. This well-thought-out compilation is more than just music; it symbolizes the deep bond they share with their fans and the art they continue to create.

All eyes are definitely on Snow Man as they prepare for this momentous occasion, and fans are ready to celebrate five years of unforgettable music and performances.
