Perm City Aims To Win Youth Capital Status 2025

Actor Nikolai Naumov rallies support for Perm’s bid as voting opens for the title.

Perm City is gearing up for its bid to become the "Youth Capital of Russia" for 2025, positioning itself as one of the finalists among prominent competitors such as Tomsk, Novy Urengoy, Omsk, and Khabarovsk. With voting open from December 1 to December 20, 2024, Perm is rallying its citizens and supporters to cast their votes and support the city’s ambitious goals.

Central to this campaign is Nikolai Naumov, the popular actor known for his role as Kolyan in the hit series "Real Guys". He recently made headlines with his vibrant video message asking for support for Perm, reminding the youth of the city to balance fun with future responsibilities. "Веселись, юноша, в юности своей, но и о будущем не забывай! Пермь претендует на звание 'Молодёжной столицы России'. Ты можешь оставить свой голос за город Пермь на портале Госуслуги. Проголосуй за Пермь — мы реально крутые!" he declared, urging everyone to rally behind their city.

The competition, which has been running since 2022, provides significant advantages for the winning city, including the opportunity to host projects spearheaded by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs. These initiatives not only promote youth engagement but also offer valuable resources for local development. The role of youth in shaping the future of cities is increasingly recognized, and this title reflects those aspirations.

Naumov’s appeal has garnered attention on the Telegram channel of the Perm Krai government, where his enthusiastic promotion of the city shines through. His call to action emphasizes the importance of every single vote, which could be the deciding factor for Perm's success. "Each vote can make all the difference,” Naumov added.

Further support has emerged from other notable figures, including Sergey Zhilin, the esteemed People's Artist of Russia. Zhilin highlighted the city’s unique charm, saying, "Пермь — очень уютный и красивый город с замечательным людьми." His endorsement, like Naumov's, reinforces the community spirit and pride within Perm.

The voting mechanism allows all residents, including those without permanent registration in the competing cities, to participate. This means citizens from across the Volga Federal District can join the movement to uplift Perm. The wide reach of this voting system is intended to maximize participation and create a sense of unity among residents.

Interestingly, during the competition's lifespan, other cities have also risen to prominence, with Nizhny Novgorod securing the title for 2023, followed by Moscow and Vladivostok sharing the honors for 2024. Now, it's Perm's turn to emerge victorious, as the city has shown impressive infrastructure and initiatives aimed at engaging young people.

Perm's position as the only city from the Volga Federal District to reach the finals speaks volumes about its potential and commitment to youth initiatives. The selection process involved analyzing the existing infrastructure, active youth projects, and community support for youth-driven initiatives—all factors pointing to Perm’s readiness to embrace the title.

With the backdrop of the annual holiday season where community spirit runs high, city officials and ambassadors are ready to maximize outreach and remind voters to make their voices heard during this pivotal moment. The festival-like atmosphere surrounding the voting period aims to inspire participation and enthusiasm among the youth.

Encouraged by grassroots movements and artistic representations, the campaign has taken shape, blending culture and community involvement. Every segment of society has been encouraged to take part, helping to create vibrant dialogues around what it means to be the Youth Capital.

While the competition is fierce, Perm residents are hopeful. They see winning this title as more than just accolades—it's about the opportunity to invest and reinvest resources back to the community, sparking innovation and collaboration toward greater goals for the youth.

Every voice counts. With the deadline approaching, the fight for the title of "Youth Capital of Russia" is not just about the votes cast but about creating lasting impressions on the future of Perm and its continued development. Citizens are reminded to vote through the Gosuslugi platform, which has become the central hub for this monumental exercise.

The outcome of this contest could well shape the future of Perm, establishing it as the epicenter for youth initiatives and development across the country. It's not just about the title; it's about empowering the next generation and ensuring they have the platforms to express their creativity and potential.

Voting will remain open until December 20, and those passionate about supporting their city are encouraged to rally their friends and families to get involved. The excitement is palpable, and the potential impact of this title could reverberate for generations within the city. Perm is poised for greatness if its citizens come together to stake their claim.
