NTA Set To Announce JEE Main Results Amid Confusion

Candidates await clarity on results after final answer key removal raises concerns.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is poised to publish the much-anticipated results for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main session 2 on its official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. However, a recent turn of events has left many candidates anxious, as the NTA has removed the final answer key that was briefly made available, further complicating the situation for engineering aspirants.

Originally released on April 17, the final answer key was meant to guide candidates in evaluating their performance in the examination held from April 2 to April 9. The NTA had previously displayed the answer key with one question omitted, following allegations of errors in the provisional answer key. Candidates had flagged nine discrepancies in the provisional key, which raised concerns about the accuracy of the scoring process.

"I appeared for the JEE Main 2025 exam on April 2 and noticed serious mismatches in my official response sheet released by NTA. Despite mailing them, I haven’t received a response," said Ayush Chowdhury, a candidate who expressed frustration over the lack of communication from the agency.

As the NTA prepares to announce the results, candidates are reminded that they will need to log in using their application number and password to access their scorecards. The JEE Main session 2 result will include the combined scores from both sessions, along with the All India Rank (AIR) and category-wise rankings. Approximately 2.5 lakh top-ranked candidates will qualify for the JEE Advanced exam, which is scheduled to be conducted by IIT Kanpur on May 18.

Despite the recent turmoil, the NTA has assured candidates that it follows a transparent examination process. In a recent statement, the agency urged candidates not to draw conclusions based solely on the provisional answer keys and to await the final results. "NTA has always followed a transparent examination process, which allows candidates to view their recorded responses as soon as the provisional answer keys are released. The NTA considers every challenge to the provisional answer key with utmost seriousness," the agency stated.

The expected cut-off for JEE Main 2025 has also been a topic of discussion among students. According to previous trends, the cut-off for the general category is anticipated to be above 92 percentile. The cut-off varies across categories, with the expected ranges as follows: EWS (83 - 92), OBC-NCL (78 - 92), SC (61 - 92), and ST (47 - 92).

Engineering aspirants are advised to keep their admit cards handy, as they will be required to enter the correct details to download their results. The NTA has not yet confirmed the exact time for the result announcement, but candidates are encouraged to regularly check the official site for updates.

In addition to the results, the NTA will also release a list of toppers along with the session 2 results. This list will include names of candidates who scored 100 percentile, as well as state, gender, and category-wise toppers. Last year, Telangana produced a significant number of toppers, and anticipation is high for this year's results.

The JEE Main results are crucial for candidates aiming for admission into prestigious engineering institutes in India, including the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and National Institutes of Technology (NITs). The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will conduct the counseling process for admissions based on JEE Main scores, which will include a total of 121 participating institutes.

Among the participating institutes, the College of Engineering, Pune (COEP), has announced plans to double its intake for various engineering programs, including computer science and civil engineering, in the upcoming academic year. This move reflects the growing demand for engineering education in India.

In the wake of the recent confusion regarding the answer key, many candidates have expressed their concern over the potential impact on their future. "Why has NTA removed the answer key uploaded for JEE Main 2025 session 2? Now NTA is not updating when the corrected answer key will be uploaded and when the result will be declared. Is it fair for NTA to play with the careers of innocent students?" questioned a user on social media.

As the clock ticks towards the announcement of the results, students remain hopeful yet anxious. The NTA has promised to provide clarity and transparency in its processes, but as candidates await their fate, the pressure is palpable. With the stakes so high, many are left wondering how this year's results will shape their academic futures.

In summary, the JEE Main session 2 results are expected to be declared soon, with candidates advised to stay alert for updates on the NTA's official website. The outcome of these results will determine the next steps for thousands of aspiring engineers across the nation.
