MPPSC Announces Exam Results And Recruitment Process

The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission releases SET results and outlines upcoming Assistant Professor recruitment details.

The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) has recently made waves with significant updates concerning the recruitment of Assistant Professors and the results for the State Eligibility Test (SET) 2024. On Thursday, MPPSC announced the results for the SET across five subjects—English, Geography, Home Science, Law, and Library & Information Science—which were released as part of 87% of total evaluations. Currently, the remaining 13% of results linger due to judicial issues connected with reservation policies.

According to MPPSC, these results have been compiled following the University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines alongside the mandated reservation policies set forth by the Madhya Pradesh government. The commission clarified, "The remaining 13% of results, which pertain to unreserved and Other Backward Classes (non-creamy layer) candidates, will be declared once the final judicial decision is made." This judicial issue has delayed results, causing frustration among thousands of aspirants eagerly waiting for the final outcomes.

The SET 2024 examination took place on December 15, 2024, comprising a general first paper followed by 24 subject-specific papers. Consistent with UGC norms, approximately 6% of the candidates who appeared have qualified. Significantly, those scoring the same marks as the last selected candidate within their categories are also included on the qualifying list. This announcement is seen as partial relief for many hopeful candidates, but the anticipation surrounding the final declaration remains high until the judicial matters are resolved.

Meanwhile, MPPSC is preparing to announce the results for the State Service Examination (Mains) 2024, which are currently undergoing the final stages of evaluation. An official from MPPSC noted, "The State Service Mains 2024 results will be released soon," and candidates are assured of results being declared within the next ten days, followed by the interview schedule slated for August.

The Mains examination itself was held from October 21 to October 26 last year, but due to the delays—typically resulting from the evaluation process—officials stated, "Despite the usual timeline of two months for result declaration, over three months have passed without any announcement." With only 110 posts available for the upcoming recruitment round, around 350 candidates are expected to advance to the interview stage, which is expected to ignite hopes for aspiring educators.

Turning to the most recent updates, on February 27, 2025, MPPSC announced the MP SET Result for the 2025 examination. Aspirants can check their results on the official MPPSC website, providing them with immediate access to their performance evaluations. With more than 1.25 lakh candidates competing, the MP SET evaluates candidates for the coveted role of Assistant Professors, ensuring rigorous standards are upheld within higher education institutions across Madhya Pradesh.

Details of the results include subject-wise and category-wise pass percentages, and the official result document is available as a PDF, containing candidate details, roll numbers, and qualifying statuses. Candidates who successfully clear the examination can view their results, which include cutoff marks determined based on various factors, including the number of test-takers and exam difficulty.

The MP SET process involves two objective-type papers and assesses both teaching and research aptitude. Paper I focuses on general knowledge and teaching abilities, with Paper II targeting specific subjects. The commission adopts strict qualifying marks; for unreserved candidates, at least 40%—equivalent to 120 out of 300 marks—is necessary, and the threshold is lower for other categories at 35% yield appropriate consideration for respective candidates.

For individuals aiming for the Assistant Professor roles beyond this examination, the MPPSC has released recruitment notifications. The application window for the Assistant Professor positions opens on February 27, 2025, and closes on March 26, 2025, facilitating online submissions. Candidates must possess at least a Master’s Degree with specified percentages and qualifications, such as the National Eligibility Test (NET) certificate. Age limits also apply, and multiple documents are required for submission during the recruitment process.

MPPSC has charted the application process clearly, ensuring candidates are well-informed about deadlines and the requisite criteria. Fees for applications differ based on candidate categories, and payment can be done through secure online channels. Following the written examination, shortlisted candidates will undergo interviews to determine placement effectively.

Overall, the MPPSC’s announcements bring both clarity and challenges to the candidates involved. The process aimed at filling academic positions must navigate both judicial intricacies and logistical barriers, yet it promises to maintain high academic standards within India's educational framework. The blend of timely result announcements and forthcoming recruitment efforts highlights MPPSC's commitment to developing qualified educators for the state’s academic institutions.
