Kazakhstan has taken significant steps to modernize the way drivers obtain necessary health documentation with the introduction of digital access for medical certificates through the eGov Mobile app. The new feature allows users to receive medical certificate form 073/u electronically, which confirms their fitness to drive, reducing the previous burdensome process significantly.
According to the National Information Technologies JSC, this innovative solution, launched in November 2024, has already seen over 7,000 certificates issued to Kazakhstani drivers who may now access this document conveniently from their smartphones, eliminating the need for physical appointments at medical facilities.
The procedure to obtain the certificate through eGov Mobile is straightforward, requiring users to log in to the app, navigate to the 'Services' section, and then select 'Health.' After choosing 'Issuance of medical certificate for driving (form 073/u),' users can complete their application by signing with Face ID or Touch ID. The completed certificate is made available in PDF format and is valid for one year, making it easier than ever to manage necessary health documentation.
Previously, drivers would need to undergo multiple medical examinations by different specialists, including specialists like therapists, ophthalmologists, otolaryngologists, and narcologists, to receive this certificate. The newly digitalized process not only saves time but also enhances convenience for citizens who previously faced logistical challenges accessing healthcare services.
"The implementation of the service aligns with the digitalization strategy of state services," stated representatives from the National Information Technologies. This approach aims to cut bureaucracy and improve the lives of ordinary citizens through efficient service delivery.
Moving forward, the Kazakhstan government continues to explore innovative technologies to simplify processes for citizens, with the digitalization push ensuring easier access to public services. Such efficiency could encourage even more users to leverage digital solutions for routine needs, marking a cultural shift toward embracing technology.
Overall, the eGov Mobile application stands as more than just a tool for obtaining medical certificates; it signifies the potential for broader reforms within Kazakhstan's governance system, making public service management more nimble and user-friendly. This move is emblematic of the country's commitment to integrating technology with everyday processes, framing the future of public service as not only digital but also interconnected and responsive to the needs of its citizens.
With the successful launch of the medical certificate service, Kazakhstan is poised to expand similar innovations across various sectors, continually enhancing public service efficiency and accessibility.
