Houstonians can soon indulge their passion for skincare as the esteemed French brand Biologique Recherche opens its flagship store at the River Oaks District. Set to launch on January 3, this will mark Biologique Recherche's third U.S. location and its first foray in the state of Texas.
Tilman Fertitta, the owner and CEO of River Oaks District, expressed excitement about the new store's arrival, saying, "We are thrilled to welcome Biologique Recherche to River Oaks District. He anticipates the new store will resonate with luxury shoppers and skincare enthusiasts alike.
Biologique Recherche is well-known for its clinical, scientific approach to skincare, and at its new Houston outpost, clients will experience fully-customized treatments based on their personal skin diagnosis. These various treatments are priced between $275 for 60 minutes and $375 for 90 minutes. Unlike traditional spas, they do not offer massages, instead focusing on treatments addressing specific skincare needs.
Margot Humbert, General Manager of Biologique Recherche USA, told the Chronicle, "We don’t technically offer massage, because we’re more about treatment." She elaborated on the range of services available, including targeted treatments for conditions like swelling after long flights or specialized care for pregnant women. The Houston location will also feature one of the largest store designs within the brand, boasting 14-foot cathedral-like ceilings and uniquely styled interiors.
The expansive River Oaks location reflects Biologique Recherche's strategy of targeting regions with high beauty spending potential, particularly areas with less brand awareness. Humbert noted, "Texas is an area where we have not been able to develop the brand as we would like to...we wanted to be in River Oaks District in Houston and Highland Park in Dallas." Previously, the brand opened its first U.S. outlet in Los Angeles, followed by one in Boston, both cities noted for their discerning clientele.
Biologique Recherche's approach includes offering customized skincare treatments based on each client's Skin Instant analysis, which investigates how various external and internal factors affect one’s skin. This level of personalization aims to meet the diverse skincare needs of Houstonians.
For Houstonians particularly enthusiastic about hair care, the store includes exclusive amenities. "For Houston, we did a separate little hair salon...we do scalp treatment, shampoo, and a beautiful blowout," Humbert explains. This addition reaffirms the brand's adaptability to regional beauty standards and preferences.
