12-Year-Old Hoàng Nhật Discovers Tech Passion Through FUNiX

Exploring programming at FUNiX empowers young minds with skills and confidence.

Hoàng Nhật, a 12-year-old boy from Vietnam, has long shown a passion for technology. He often engages with programming, gaming, and tech reviews, stating, "I think programmers writing code look cool and amazing, and I want to learn it." Before enrolling at FUNiX, he had some exposure to programming through basic computer classes at his elementary school. He also took the initiative to self-learn simple coding commands and analyzed various games written in Python to understand command blocks.

Hoàng Nhật's mother, Hoàng Thị Thu Thủy, recognized her son's interest and encouraged him by finding suitable IT courses for his age. She hoped to provide him with the opportunity to explore and discover potential within this field. "I only want him to gain knowledge about this field, and in the future, with IT knowledge, he can find work anywhere he goes," said Thủy.

Through friends, she learned about FUNiX's programming courses for children. After much deliberation, she opted for the Scratch programming course. Initially, she was skeptical about whether her son could adapt and learn due to his young age and struggles with Mathematics. "When he started, I saw his enthusiasm and received positive feedback from the teachers. I felt I had made the right choice," she recalled.

Hoàng Nhật fondly remembers his first class with the mentor. Thanks to the mentor's humor and clear teaching methods, he quickly adapted to the course. Not only did he find success with Scratch, but he also transitioned smoothly to Python, assisted by mentors Sang and Thắng. "The teachers are always happy to answer any questions to help me get accustomed and understand the concepts. I previously thought programming was difficult, but actually, it’s easy, and I can create the games I like after some time," Hoàng Nhật shared.

Twice a week, Hoàng Nhật attends 45-minute classes via Zoom with his mentors, gradually conquering each course. Since taking up programming, he has gained knowledge about various games, applications, and even detailed computer structures, confidently using computers and the Internet. Notably, he has created many games, with his favorite being a detective game.

"What I’m most proud of is integrating my favorite Conan stories within my first game, which I programmed using Python," he explained. Hoàng Nhật believes programming does not detract from his academic studies; rather, it helps him excel more in subjects like Mathematics and computer science. He dreams of raising a gold trophy for programming or becoming a professional coder to motivate himself.

Thủy feels reassured watching her son engage enthusiastically with the course, becoming more proactive and independent with his learning. Observing him create his first games and sharing them with his older brother brings her joy. Hoàng Nhật even assists his brother with drawing on paint and playing the games he created.

Throughout his studies, he has interacted significantly with mentors, and Thủy encourages him to ask questions when he doesn’t understand and to explore more online. "I’m genuinely happy with choosing FUNiX," she expressed.

FUNiX currently offers free trial programs for children's programming courses, including Scratch programming and computer science with Python. Through these lessons, children receive basic knowledge of programming languages, practice coding through games and personal projects, and experience the guidance of experienced mentors. This helps them recognize their interests clearly and take initiative in their learning. Parents interested can register for free trial programming courses.
