Wembley Arena Hosts Star-Studded Concert For Trans Rights

Olly Alexander and Mighty Hoopla unite music legends and public figures for a landmark charity event supporting trans rights and legal advocacy in the UK.

London’s iconic OVO Arena Wembley is set to become the stage for a landmark event in support of trans rights, as a dazzling array of musical stars and public figures come together for an all-star charity concert on March 11, 2026. The concert, titled Trans Mission and subtitled "A Night of Solidarity For A Lifetime Of Change," is the brainchild of pop sensation Olly Alexander and the team behind the Mighty Hoopla festival. It promises not only a night of unforgettable performances but also a powerful statement of unity, empathy, and resistance against rising hate crimes and discrimination faced by the trans community in the United Kingdom.

Trans Mission boasts a lineup that reads like a who’s who of contemporary music and entertainment. Fans can look forward to performances from chart-topping acts such as Sugababes, Wolf Alice, Romy, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Christine and the Queens, Beth Ditto, Beverley Knight, Jasmine.4.T, and Kae Tempest, among many others. The event will also see appearances from Adam Lambert, Bimini, Fat Tony, GottMikk, HAAi, Kate Nash, MNEK, Sink the Pink, Tom Grennan, Tom Rasmussen, and the collective Trans Voices. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg—more artists are expected to be announced as the date draws nearer.

But it isn’t just musicians lending their voices to the cause. The evening will feature a host of prominent supporters, including Green Party leader Zack Polanski, legendary actor Ian McKellen, comedian Grace Campbell, author Shon Faye, actor Mawaan Rizwan, model Munroe Bergdorf, and Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan. Additional appearances will come from Dani St James, Harriet Rose, Jack Rooke, Jayde Adams, Jo Maugham, Jordan Stephens, Juno Birch, Juno Dawson, Kadiff Kirwan, Layton Williams, Russell Tovey, Tia Kofi, Tiara Skye, and more.

Funds raised from the event will support two organizations at the forefront of legal and community advocacy: the Good Law Project, a charity that leverages the law to drive government accountability and progressive change, and Not a Phase, a trans-led charity focused on supporting trans and non-binary people across the UK. Tickets for the concert will go on sale at 10am GMT on December 2, 2025, with prices starting at £28.50—a price point organizers hope will make the event accessible to as many supporters as possible.

Speaking about the inspiration behind Trans Mission, Olly Alexander shared his passion for the cause and the urgency of collective action. "I believe that in these times, community action isn’t just important – it’s essential! We need real and lasting change. Through solidarity, creativity and collective fundraising, we can fight back against the politics of fear and exclusion and build a world where everyone can thrive," he said in a statement reported by The Guardian and NME. Alexander also expressed his gratitude for the trans and non-binary people whose creativity and presence he described as "essential to the cultural fabric we all share," adding, "Trans Mission is going to be a special and unforgettable night, and I’m excited to share the stage with so many wonderful people I hugely admire."

The organizers have positioned the concert as a direct response to what they describe as a troubling increase in hate crimes and discrimination against trans people in recent years. This surge, they say, has been exacerbated by recent legal and governmental developments—most notably the UK Supreme Court’s ruling on April 16, 2025, which determined that the legal definition of a woman under the Equality Act is based on biological sex. The interim guidance from the Equality and Human Rights Commission that followed further fueled debate and, according to advocates, left many in the trans community feeling vulnerable and excluded.

Glyn Fussell and Jamie Tagg, co-founders of Mighty Hoopla, have been working behind the scenes to bring the event to life. In their words, "We have been working behind the scenes to organise something on this scale for a long time, to not only fundraise but also publicly stand with the trans community who are under daily attack. It is time we came together, got organised and unite to fight back against the hate. This is about allyship, empathy and holding up those we love." Their hope is that the event will serve as both a rallying cry and a beacon of hope for trans people and their allies across the country.

The entertainment industry has shown increasing solidarity with the trans community in the wake of these developments. Earlier in 2025, artists including Charli XCX, Self Esteem, and Wolf Alice signed an open letter of support for trans rights, penned by artist Tom Rasmussen and Tom Mehrtens (Head of Music & Entertainment at SATELLITE414), with input from Olly Alexander and Martha Kinn, founder of Kinndred Management. The letter, which was widely circulated and endorsed by figures such as Scissor Sisters, Perfume Genius, Garbage, Rachel Chinouriri, JADE, Lambrini Girls, and Billy Bragg, aimed to "channel our anger and frustration at the current situation" and reaffirm the industry’s commitment to "solidarity, support and love for the trans community at this vital time."

Jo Maugham, founder of the Good Law Project, also weighed in on the significance of the event, stating, "To be trans is to celebrate the infinite possibility of the human condition – this amazing lineup is testimony to [trans artists’] creative genius. And as the old world tries to force trans people back into tired social constructs, Good Law Project could not be more proud to fight for, and with, the new."

The concert’s message is clear: trans people are loved, valued, and celebrated, and the entertainment industry stands proudly with them. The event’s subtitle, "A Night of Solidarity For A Lifetime Of Change," underscores the organizers’ hope that the impact of this gathering will resonate far beyond a single evening—sparking ongoing conversations, inspiring activism, and driving tangible support for those who need it most.

As excitement builds and tickets prepare to go on sale, the anticipation surrounding Trans Mission is palpable. For many, it represents not just a night of music and celebration, but a vital moment of visibility and affirmation in turbulent times. With a star-studded lineup, heartfelt advocacy, and a powerful call to action, Trans Mission looks poised to make history at Wembley—and to remind the world that, in the words of its organizers, "it is time we came together, got organised and unite to fight back against the hate."

Whether you’re a fan of the artists, a supporter of trans rights, or simply someone who believes in the power of community, this is one night you won’t want to miss.
