The Night Tube service, which operates through Oxford Circus on the Victoria and Central lines at weekends, was running at the time of both incidents, raising questions about safety for those traveling late at night.

Meanwhile, in south-east London, a far graver incident unfolded earlier in the week. Emergency services were called to a property on Trafalgar Road in Greenwich at around 10:20 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. There, they discovered a 29-year-old woman who had suffered fatal stab wounds. Despite efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead at the scene, as reported by BBC London.
A 33-year-old man was arrested at the property and subsequently taken to hospital, where he is being treated for life-threatening injuries. In a twist, the same man who was injured was later arrested on suspicion of affray and remains in custody as of August 31. Two other men, aged 27 and 25, were also arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and are being detained as the investigation continues. The scene on Golborne Road remained cordoned off into Saturday, with forensic examiners combing for evidence to piece together the circumstances leading to the altercation.
A Met Police spokesperson detailed the response: “Police were called at 14:15hrs on Friday, 29 August to reports of a stabbing in Golborne Road, W10. Met officers attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service and the London’s Air Ambulance, where they found a 24-year-old man with a stab wound to his hand. He was taken to hospital where his condition was assessed as neither life-threatening nor life-changing. He was later arrested on suspicion of affray and remains in custody. Officers also arrested two men, aged 27 and 25, on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. They remain in custody. A scene is in place while officers investigate the circumstances.”
