Sophie Habboo And Jamie Laing Reveal Raising Chelsea

The reality TV couple share their emotional journey to parenthood and the unexpected filming of their son's birth in a new Disney+ series.

The glitz and candor of reality TV took center stage in London this week as Sophie Habboo and Jamie Laing, the couple who first captured the public’s imagination on Made in Chelsea, unveiled their most personal project yet: Raising Chelsea. The three-part documentary series, now streaming on Disney+ as of April 2, 2026, follows the pair’s tumultuous and emotional journey to parenthood, culminating in the birth of their son, Ziggy.

The buzz began at The Cinema In The Power Station, where Habboo, 31, wowed onlookers in a short black lace slip layered over a matching bodysuit, her long blonde hair styled in loose waves. According to The Standard, she was joined by her husband Jamie Laing, 37, who kept things casual in a black suit and white T-shirt, a look that matched his easygoing persona. Family members, including Sophie’s sister Georgia and parents Patrique and Sarah Wigley, were also in attendance, lending the event a warm, familial air. The guest list sparkled with familiar faces from the reality TV world, including Made in Chelsea alumni Ollie Proudlock and Sam Thompson, Canadian comedian Katherine Ryan, and Love Island: All Stars winners Molly Smith and Tom Clare.

But behind the glamour, the heart of Raising Chelsea lies in its raw portrayal of new parenthood. As Sophie shared with OK!, the birth of Ziggy was far from straightforward. “I cry every time I watch it. It’s a wild experience,” she confessed. “I saw something the other day that the birth is like every emotion, like fireworks, like every single emotion you can imagine going off in your head. That truly is what it’s like. It’s utterly wild. And it is quite amazing to have that captured and like be able to show your children later on in life.”

The couple hadn’t initially planned to include footage of Ziggy’s birth in the documentary. In a twist worthy of reality TV, it was an anaesthetist who, while taking photos for the family, ended up filming the entire birth. Sophie recalled, “The anaesthetist was taking photos of the bath for us, which they do. They offered to do that and she filmed the whole thing. Then after Ziggy was born, I was looking at the photos and I realised we had it on camera and it was just—it was so emotional.”

The decision to include the footage was not taken lightly. “I actually just loved watching it and I was like, ‘You know what? We’ve filmed this show for nine months. We’ve given it our all to it, it only feels right to put that in the show.’ And I’m so glad we did. I hope people will love it,” Sophie said. Jamie, ever the supportive partner, emphasized that the footage’s authenticity was what made it so special. “What’s so amazing is that it’s so real. We didn’t know we were being filmed so you’re watching a couple go through what it really is like during that moment where you’re about to meet your baby. It’s like mind-blowing. It’s crazy. So, that’s insane.”

Despite their openness on camera, Sophie and Jamie are keenly aware of the challenges that come with raising a child in the public eye. They remain determined to shield Ziggy from excessive exposure, even as they share their story with the world. “It’s along the line of ‘How much do you want to share?’ because lots of things are triggering for new mums and you know mums are protective,” Sophie explained. “We’re all going through it differently and I found it hard and complicated on how to navigate what I share on social media and I’m still sort of trying to work that out.”

The couple’s journey to this point has been anything but ordinary. Meeting on Made in Chelsea in 2017, Sophie and Jamie’s relationship blossomed on-screen before they started dating in 2019. Their romance led to a wedding in 2023, and the arrival of Ziggy in December 2025. Raising Chelsea documents every step of this process, from the emotional rollercoaster of trying to conceive, through pregnancy, to the sleepless nights and joyful chaos of life with a newborn.

For Sophie, the transition to motherhood has brought surprises both profound and mundane. “The biggest surprise is the amount of love, it’s almost too much,” she gushed. “I can’t express the love in words and also the change that I feel as a person. Like I feel like a different person, but for the better, I hope.” Jamie, never one to miss a chance for humor, chimed in with a more down-to-earth revelation: “And how big his poos are. There’s one that went all the way up to his neck on his back. I don’t know how that happened. That was unexpected. Okay, he’s a little baby but you don’t expect it to be that much, but it is.”

The series doesn’t shy away from the messy, unpredictable nature of new parenthood, offering viewers a glimpse into the couple’s real-life challenges and triumphs. As Jamie put it, “It’s the wildest thing ever. It is but in the most beautiful way.”

The premiere event itself was a testament to the couple’s enduring popularity and the broad appeal of their story. Alongside Sophie’s family, friends and fellow reality stars mingled, celebrating not just the launch of a TV series, but the unfolding of a new chapter in two very public lives. The presence of celebrities like Katherine Ryan and the Love Island duo added to the sense of occasion, but the focus remained squarely on Sophie, Jamie, and their journey.

For fans, Raising Chelsea offers more than just entertainment; it’s an invitation into the most intimate moments of a beloved couple’s life. The series captures not only the joy and vulnerability of becoming parents, but also the ongoing negotiation between public and private life that all modern families must navigate—albeit with a few more cameras rolling.

As the credits roll on the first episode, viewers are left with a sense of awe at the candor and courage it takes to share such deeply personal experiences. For Sophie and Jamie, the wild ride of parenthood is only just beginning, but through Raising Chelsea, they’ve made sure that every emotion, every laugh, and every tear is there for all to see—fireworks and all.
