Samara Weaving Stuns At Premiere With Baby Bump

The horror star dazzles in bold maternity fashion at the Ready or Not 2 premiere as she prepares for her first child and a busy year ahead.

Samara Weaving, the acclaimed Australian actress and reigning queen of horror, stepped out in show-stopping style at the Los Angeles premiere of "Ready or Not 2: Here I Come" on March 16, 2026. Held at AMC The Grove 14, the event was not just a celebration of her latest cinematic triumph, but also a radiant showcase of her bold maternity fashion. With her growing baby bump on full display, Weaving dazzled in a cutout mint-green dress, complemented by sparkling diamonds and a chic updo styled by Clara Leonard. Makeup artist Leah Darcy gave her that signature glow, making it clear that Weaving is embracing motherhood with the same confidence and flair she brings to her roles.

Weaving's red carpet appearance was the latest in a series of headline-grabbing maternity looks she's sported throughout the "Ready or Not 2" press tour. According to SheKnows, she's quickly becoming known as much for her fashion choices as for her scream-queen status. The actress, now 34, is expecting her first child with filmmaker husband Jimmy Warden, and the baby's arrival is described as "imminent" as of late March 2026.

Her journey to this moment is a story in itself. Weaving and Warden first met on the set of the 2017 horror-comedy "The Babysitter," where sparks flew both on and off camera. The couple began dating soon after and tied the knot in 2019. Their pregnancy announcement came on December 16, 2025, when Weaving posted photos of her baby bump to Instagram with the cheeky caption, "Ready or Not: Here I Come 😏." The playful nod to her film franchise delighted fans and signaled a new chapter for the couple.

But the road to the "Ready or Not 2" premiere wasn't without its bumps—literal and figurative. In a candid interview with USA Today, Weaving revealed she suffered a serious back injury just two weeks before filming began. "To be honest, during the fittings, my back was broken and I was on a lot of pain meds so I don't remember. But I'm pretty sure it was the same one," she said, referring to the iconic wedding dress from the first movie. The injury, which she sustained while making the bed—"I just picked up a pillow and it went, 'Today's the day,'" she joked—left her with a dead disc and severe swelling. Doctors warned her, "We usually see this in like 75-year-old people but sure." Despite the pain and uncertainty, Weaving's determination never wavered. "It's funny what the body can do. I think it knew that it needed to make a movie. Two days before we started, the swelling went down and it felt fine. I am debating whether I get surgery or not. Getting old!"

Filming "Ready or Not 2: Here I Come" proved to be an even bloodier affair than its predecessor. As Weaving recounted, "On the first one, it was just a man with a bag of goo and a little explosive in it. This one, they had a team of people with this blood cannon that they built. They would wheel out this aggressive machine every time there was an explosion … with big nozzles pointed at you. It was just the most hectic, terrifying thing to be staring at. Of course, you have to act like you're not expecting it and you know what's coming." The sequel, currently playing in theaters, ups the ante with more frequent and intense blood explosions, a hallmark that fans of the franchise have come to expect.

Weaving's character, Grace, once again finds herself in the thick of chaos. In the original 2019 hit "Ready or Not," Grace survives her new in-laws' deadly games. The sequel sees her teaming up with her estranged younger sister, Faith (played by Kathryn Newton), as they are hunted by four elite families vying for control of a shadowy Council. Grace outsmarts her adversaries, even marrying and then killing one (Shawn Hatosy) to become the High Seat of the Council. Yet, true to her character, she refuses the title, leading to a climactic scene where cult members spontaneously combust. As Grace succinctly puts it, "someone had to burn it all down." In the end, she commits to rebuilding her relationship with Faith, leaving audiences with a sense of hope amid the carnage. "If the first one is a breakup movie, this is a falling-in-love movie," Weaving explained, highlighting the emotional evolution of her character.

The franchise's future remains an open question, but Weaving and her colleagues have joked about the possibility of a third installment. "We all are laughing that it will piss everyone off if we just make a straight rom-com of two sisters on holiday. 'Meeting two brothers and miscommunication ensues!' All the horror fans are going, 'I hate this,'" she quipped, showing her trademark wit and self-awareness.

Beyond "Ready or Not 2," Weaving's star continues to rise. She's set to appear in the dark comedy "Over Your Dead Body" alongside Jason Segel, premiering April 24, and in the crime romance "Carolina Caroline," out June 5, where she stars opposite Kyra Sedgwick. Reflecting on her experience filming with Sedgwick, Weaving shared, "Oh, man. Listen, I had a front-row seat to the best play in town that day, just sitting in front of Kyra watching her do that. This chick is superb. It was amazing to watch."

Her humor and candor extend to her home life as well. Weaving noted that she and her husband never had traditional wedding photos due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, they framed a prop photo of her and Jason Segel from "Over Your Dead Body" as their wedding photo. "That's our wedding photo. That's hilarious. So your kid's going to be like, 'Who's this guy? Because he is not Dad.' Are you sure? (Laughs.) Yeah, me and Uncle Jason. Just really confuse her."

As she prepares to welcome her first child, Weaving remains remarkably serene. "When I think about the future, I feel quite calm about it. I feel really lucky that I’ve got everything I need. I'm really not stressed about anything. I've had a really nice pregnancy and I've got lots of support and love," she said, radiating the same poise that has seen her through both onscreen mayhem and real-life challenges.

With "Ready or Not 2: Here I Come" thrilling audiences in theaters and a new addition to her family on the way, Samara Weaving is proving that she can handle just about anything—be it blood-soaked horror, red carpet glamor, or the joys and surprises of motherhood.
