As the winter chill lingers across much of the United States, restaurants and revelers alike are gearing up for a celebration that promises to bring a splash of summer to February: National Margarita Day, falling this year on Sunday, February 22, 2026. From classic recipes to creative twists, chains and local spots across the country are rolling out festive deals, special menus, and even club memberships to honor one of America’s favorite cocktails. Whether you’re a diehard margarita fan or just looking for a reason to get out of the house, there’s something for everyone this weekend.
Leading the charge is Chili’s Grill & Bar, which is transforming its longstanding Margarita of the Month deal into a full-fledged club for customers. According to Chili’s, nearly 30 million margaritas were sold at its restaurants in 2025—more than any other eatery in America. The new Margarita of the Month Club, open to anyone 21 and over, is free to join online and allows members to track the different margaritas they’ve tried each month. “The Margarita of the Month Club was born when we saw a group of diehards who come in every month to try each new marg,” said George Felix, Chili’s Chief Marketing Officer. “We decided to give them an official way to show off their fandom complete with merch and a way to keep track of each of the margs they've tried. This isn't an exclusive club – all are welcome!” (Chili’s statement)
Club members can access rotating monthly margaritas for just $6 and get first dibs on new Chili’s merchandise, including a cabana shirt (available in green or pink), a cozy crewneck, a crescent bag, and a playful plastic keychain—all adorned with margarita-themed designs. Those who buy merchandise receive a free Club Field Book, a passport-style booklet to record their margarita adventures. And in honor of the holiday, Chili’s is offering several drink specials on National Margarita Day itself: a $5 Tequila Classic made with Cuervo Tradicional Blanco, triple sec, and house-made sour; the return of the $6 StrawEddy—blending Lunazul Blanco Tequila, Deep Eddy Lemon Vodka, strawberry puree, and house-made sour; and a $7 Frozen Margarita crafted with PATRÓN Silver Tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and agave.
But Chili’s isn’t the only national chain getting in on the fun. Applebee’s is bringing back its famed Dollarita—just $1 for a margarita in Strawberry, Mango, or Classic Lime flavors at select locations on February 22. Bahama Breeze Island Grill is serving $2.22 classic margaritas all day for dine-in guests, while Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar is pouring $2.22 Lime and Strawberry LocoRitas. Miller’s Ale House is matching that price for its House Margaritas, and Velvet Taco is offering $5 margaritas, both on the rocks and frozen, throughout the weekend leading up to National Margarita Day.
Other standout deals include Abuelo’s Mexican Restaurant’s $8 premium margaritas, Margarita’s Mexican Restaurant’s $6 House Margaritas and $9.99 Patrón Margaritas, and Ruby Tuesday’s trio of bargains: $2 Mini-Margaritas, $5 Ruby-Ritas, and $10 Top Shelf Margaritas, with the festivities extending through February 23. TGI Friday’s is serving up $5 Super Fresh Margaritas and free chips and salsa for rewards members from February 20 to 22. Fuzzy’s Taco Shop is offering $4 House Margaritas and Sangria ’Rita Swirls, as well as the quirky $14.50 Party Pants Marg, which comes in a glass shaped like a pair of pants. Meanwhile, Lime is selling $5 frozen lime margaritas and hosting a sweepstakes where three lucky winners will enjoy free frozen margaritas for a year.
Local restaurants are also joining the party with their own unique spins. In Portland, Oregon, Amelia’s is shaving $3 off classic and “copa grande” margaritas and offering $2 off any margarita purchased with an entrée, plus a complimentary fiesta glass for the first 24 guests. Choza Cantina in Tigard, OR, is serving $6 house margaritas in fifteen flavors, from watermelon to berry to basil. El Sombrero is offering $10 house margaritas and specials on flavored drinks and food, while Matador is rolling out Milagro Tequila-based specials, including classic, hibiscus sage, and “mariposa” cocktails. McMenamins is hosting an all-day happy hour for classic margaritas, and The Pharmacy is keeping things lively with $7 margaritas in classic, spicy, frozen, or “dangerously smooth” varieties.
Oklahoma City is no stranger to margarita enthusiasm either. Fuzzy’s Tacos there is matching its national deal with $4 House Margaritas and Sangria ’Rita Swirls, plus Party Pants and Pants on Fire Margaritas. Torchy’s Tacos is offering $10 house margaritas with a limited-edition cup, while Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar in Norman, OK, is featuring $2.22 LocoRitas for dine-in customers. Twin Peaks is highlighting its new Cuervo Tradicional Margarita, made with Jose Cuervo Tradicional Blanco, triple sec, agave, and lime juice, alongside a menu of spicy, fruity, and bold margarita options. Yelp’s top ten margarita spots in OKC—ranging from Ser and Palo Santo to The Lazy Donkey and Taco Nation—are sure to see an influx of visitors, as will local favorites like REV Mex, El Chilango, OSO Paseo, and Iguana Mexican Grill.
In Texas, the festivities are as big as the state itself. Fort Worth’s Landmark Bar and Kitchen is hosting a parking lot fiesta from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, complete with live DJs, food trucks, street tacos, games, and even a mechanical bull. Guests can enjoy $2 margaritas and $2 tacos until 2 p.m., with $7 margaritas available all day. Casa Rita Margs is offering a party pack for at-home celebrations, featuring two 32-ounce margaritas and six Jell-O shots for $24 during happy hour, and $28 on weekends. On Sunday only, any purchase comes with two free Jell-O shots. The Rabbit Hole Pub is serving $3 house margaritas and crawfish from Cocodrie’s Bayou Kitchen starting at 3 p.m., along with nonalcoholic margarita options for those abstaining. Salsa Limón is stretching the party across the weekend, with $5 margaritas and $22 pitchers from Friday through Sunday. Flying Fish is offering half-price Jose Cuervo margaritas with any entrée, dine-in only.
Of course, not everyone wants to brave the crowds. For those celebrating at home, Southern Living suggests a Texas-style margarita recipe: combine blanco tequila, orange liqueur (such as triple sec or Cointreau), fresh lime juice, fresh orange juice, and agave nectar, with a salt rim if you like. Shake it all with ice, strain over fresh ice, and garnish with an orange wedge for a lighter, sweeter take on the classic.
With so many choices—from bargain drinks and exclusive clubs to lively parties and home mixology—National Margarita Day 2026 is shaping up to be a coast-to-coast toast to creativity, community, and, of course, tequila. Whether you’re sipping a $1 Dollarita, tracking your monthly margs at Chili’s, or shaking up a Texas-style cocktail in your own kitchen, this year’s celebration offers a little something for everyone who loves a good margarita.
