Medical aspirants across India are experiencing a wave of revised schedules and crucial updates as state-level NEET UG 2025 counselling enters its pivotal third round. From Bihar to West Bengal and Punjab, authorities have announced new deadlines, extended application periods, and fresh reporting instructions, all in a bid to streamline the path to coveted medical seats for thousands of hopefuls.
In Bihar, the process took an unexpected turn when the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) released a notification on October 15, 2025, announcing a change in the timeline for the third round of NEET UG counselling. According to Sakshi Education and other outlets, the rank card publication for round 3, initially anticipated earlier, has now been rescheduled to October 19, 2025. The delay, as clarified by BCECEB, follows an extension of the third-round schedule by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), prompting the state board to adjust its own dates accordingly.
"Due to extension of time schedule for Round-3 by MCC, Rank Card publication of UGMAC-2025 is delayed. Now Rank Card will be published on 19.10.2025. Concerned students are advised to remain in touch with Board’s website," the BCECEB notification stated, as cited by Times Now.
This adjustment means that candidates participating in Bihar’s third round can only download their rank cards from the official BCECEB website starting October 19. Following this, the provisional allotment list will be published, and those allotted seats will be able to download their allotment orders and report to their respective colleges for document verification and admission procedures. The BCECEB has emphasized the importance of regularly checking the official website for updates and instructions, given the fluid nature of the schedule.
Meanwhile, in West Bengal, the West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) is also keeping candidates on their toes with a revised schedule. As reported by The Telegraph, the release of the verified candidates list and seat matrix for NEET UG 2025 counselling round 3, originally set for October 10, was postponed to October 15, 2025. Only those whose names appear on this verification list can proceed to the next step—choice filling, which opens at 4 PM on October 15 and closes on October 17.
The seat allotment results in West Bengal are scheduled for release on October 22, 2025. Selected candidates will then have a three-day window—October 24, 25, and 27, from 11 AM to 4 PM—to report and complete admission formalities. There’s a twist for those assigned to private medical or dental colleges: candidates must report to designated government institutions in Kolkata or, for dental seats, to Dr R Ahmed Dental College, carrying all original documents, fee receipts, and required bonds for verification and admission.
WBMCC has also announced that, after the conclusion of round 3, registration for the online stray round will open on October 29, 2025, offering another opportunity for those who haven’t yet secured a seat. The committee urges all candidates—whether under State Quota, Private Management Quota, or NRI Quota—to keep a close eye on the official website for updates and detailed guidelines to avoid missing critical deadlines.
Punjab, too, is in the midst of significant changes to its NEET UG 2025 counselling process. As per Times Now, the Pt BD Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak, has revised the schedule for the third round. Candidates now have until October 21, 2025, to submit applications, fill out their choices, and lock them in via the official website. The seat allotment result for round 3 is set to be declared on October 23, 2025.
Once seats are allotted, successful candidates must pay the prescribed fee and undergo document verification between October 31 and November 2, 2025. The last date for reporting to allotted colleges is November 3. The process is comprehensive, with a detailed list of required documents: NEET UG 2025 admit card, scorecard, class 10 and 12 mark sheets, birth certificate if applicable, domicile certificate, category certificate if relevant, PwD certificate if needed, character certificate, migration and gap certificates if applicable, recent passport-size photographs, identity proof, proof of residence, provisional allotment letter, and the counselling fee payment receipt.
The revised schedule is designed to ensure that every eligible candidate has ample time to complete each step, but officials stress the importance of adhering to deadlines and preparing documents in advance. The university’s website provides a step-by-step guide for registration, from filling out the application form and uploading documents to paying the fee and submitting the final application.
For context, the second round of Haryana NEET UG counselling, also overseen by Pt BD Sharma University, saw 1,766 candidates allotted seats, with 199 candidates upgrading to higher preferences and 281 accepting their previously allotted seats. These figures underscore the competitive nature and high stakes of the medical admissions process, where every round counts.
Across all three states, the recurring theme is adaptability. The shifting schedules, while frustrating for some, reflect the immense logistical challenge of coordinating medical admissions at a national scale, especially when central bodies like the MCC adjust their own timelines. The ripple effects are felt in every state, requiring quick communication and flexibility from both officials and candidates.
For students and families, the stakes couldn’t be higher. The NEET UG counselling process is the gateway to medical education in India, and every deadline, document, and notification can make the difference between securing a seat and missing out for another year. As the third round unfolds, the message from authorities is clear: stay vigilant, check official websites frequently, and ensure all paperwork is in order.
With the final rounds approaching and stray rounds offering last chances, the coming weeks will be decisive for thousands of aspiring doctors. For now, patience, preparation, and timely action remain the keys to success in the ever-evolving landscape of NEET UG 2025 counselling.
