Katie Price Defends Whirlwind Marriage Amid Controversy

The television star addresses her rapid Dubai wedding, defends husband Lee Andrews against fraud rumors, and opens up about family concerns during a candid Good Morning Britain interview.

When Katie Price, the ever-controversial British media personality, sat down for her headline-grabbing appearance on Good Morning Britain on March 16, 2026, few could have predicted just how many revelations would come tumbling out. Flanked by hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls, Price declared that no topic was off limits. And true to her word, she tackled everything from her whirlwind marriage to Lee Andrews, to questions about her health, and the persistent rumors swirling around her new husband’s background.

The interview, which marked Price’s first in years on the ITV morning show, was billed as a no-holds-barred affair. The 47-year-old former glamour model was radiant and unapologetically candid as she discussed her recent wedding to Dubai-based businessman Lee Andrews—a union that has left both her family and fans reeling. The couple’s romance has been nothing short of a whirlwind: Price and Andrews married in a Dubai ceremony in January 2026, just days after meeting in person for the first time. As Price recounted, “We got married two weeks ago. Although it looked like we did the ceremony in January, we did get engaged then. It just feels so right.”

But the speed of her fourth marriage isn’t the only thing raising eyebrows. The mystery surrounding Lee Andrews’s background has only deepened in recent weeks. For a time, Andrews’s social media accounts described him as “Dr Lee Andrews,” a Cambridge University PhD holder, complete with AI-generated photos of him rubbing shoulders with celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Elon Musk at a Dubai event. These images have since been debunked and removed, and Cambridge University confirmed to multiple outlets that they have no record of anyone by his name attending, let alone earning a doctorate.

Pressed on the issue by Ed Balls, Price backtracked on her previous claims and clarified, “He hasn’t got a PhD from Cambridge. It’s one in Spain. That’s for him to say why he’s got his PhD. But it’s not for Cambridge. Don’t know where that came from. He hasn’t got a PhD in Cambridge at all.” She was adamant, however, that the degree exists and is legitimate. “He has got a PhD. I’ve seen it all. I’ve seen everything I need to see,” she said, adding that the certificate was not honorary and featured all the hallmarks of authenticity—wax stamps, watermarks, and original documentation. Price had previously told The Sun that, “Everything he’s shown me is so legit. They’re not copies, they’re originals.”

Yet, skepticism lingers. The university in Spain where Andrews purportedly earned his doctorate remains unnamed, and the Cambridge claim—once repeated by Price herself—has now been publicly walked back. The controversy over his credentials is compounded by reports that Andrews has not yet settled the bill for their lavish wedding at a luxury Dubai hotel nearly two months prior, and by allegations from an ex-partner who has compared him to the infamous “Tinder Swindler.”

Despite all the speculation, Price has stood firmly by her husband, insisting that he is not the con artist some have alleged. “I can reassure everyone at home that I haven’t gone for a con man. I haven’t gone for a scammer. There was no love bombing. I’ve gone for a beautiful human being who genuinely makes me happy, who I’m so in love with,” she told The Sun. On Good Morning Britain, she echoed the sentiment: “I want to get to know him. He wants to get to know me. No one will ever understand the way I do things.”

Price’s approach to her new relationship is, in her words, markedly different from her past. She explained that, unlike previous partners who quickly became entwined in her family life, Andrews lives in Dubai and maintains a degree of separation from her and her five children—Harvey, Junior, Princess, Jett, and Bunny. “Every relationship I’ve had, I’ve literally met them, they’ve met the kids, moved in, and then they’re just in my space. I want to have time for me to do things for me. So it works very well. He lives in Dubai. When I’ve got the kids, I’ve got the kids. When I haven’t, then I can see him. It just works well for me. I can do my work. I’ve got my own space, my own thing to do everything,” she said during the interview.

One of the more surprising admissions was Price’s explanation for why Andrews has not yet met her children in person, despite their marriage. “He hasn’t met the family, hasn’t met the kids, although they’ve been on FaceTime. They’ve all seen him on FaceTime. Yeah,” Price revealed. “For me to introduce him to the kids, I won’t be introducing them to the kids yet, because I want to get to know him more myself.” It’s an unusual stance, perhaps, but Price insists it’s the right move for her. “I think people shouldn’t underestimate me and my decisions. I’m older, I’ve learned a lot. And it feels right for me. I’m happy and I just want people to be happy for me.”

Her happiness, however, has not stopped the rumor mill from churning. Around March 14-15, 2026, Lee Andrews made headlines of his own by sharing a pointed remark on Instagram aimed at Price’s ex-boyfriend JJ Slater, calling him a “little man.” Price reposted the quote, publicly demonstrating her support for her new husband. In a further display of devotion, Andrews showed off tattoos bearing Price’s name and that of her firstborn son, Harvey—despite not yet having met Harvey or any of Price’s other children face-to-face. The tattoo, which features Harvey’s name in cursive alongside a frog (Harvey’s favorite animal), was widely circulated in the British tabloids.

Price’s rapid-fire romance with Andrews followed her breakup with JJ Slater, who was 14 years her junior. The pair, who had even discussed the possibility of having a child together, parted ways in early January 2026 after Price reportedly concluded that Slater was not “husband material.” According to sources cited by the Daily Mail, Slater was left disappointed and moved back to Essex after the split.

Throughout the interview, Price also took the opportunity to address concerns about her recent weight loss, which has drawn attention from both fans and the media. Host Susanna Reid did not shy away from the topic, stating, “Katie, can I ask, because I am concerned about your weight because you are very, very, very skinny.” Price responded candidly, “I’m glad you’ve asked this! People who follow me online will know I have lost weight. I recognise I lose weight. I look too skinny. I look gaunt. So I have been to the doctors to see why am I losing this weight. I’ve done all the blood tests. I even had to do the poo one as well to find out.” She explained that she is iron deficient and is currently undergoing further tests, including for pre-menopause, but was adamant that she is not using weight loss injections or medication. “I am healthy, so no one worry about me!” she insisted.

Price also reflected on her history with relationships, admitting that she has only ever truly been in love three times: with Dane Bowers, Peter Andre, and now Lee Andrews. She described her marriage to Andrews as feeling “so right,” despite the unconventional timeline, and asked the public for understanding. “Let people just give us a chance. I think the fact, because I married him so quick, I think that’s the shock. If I had just met him, people wouldn’t be so worried.”

For all the controversy and speculation, Price remains steadfast in her decisions, embracing her new marriage and the unique arrangement that comes with it. As the dust settles from her bombshell interview, one thing is clear: Katie Price is determined to live life on her own terms, regardless of what the tabloids—or anyone else—might think.
