JEE Main Correction Window Opens As Bihar Board Releases Exam Dates

Students across India and Bihar get key updates as NTA opens JEE Main 2025 correction window and BSEB publishes the Class 10 timetable for 2026.

On December 1, 2025, the National Testing Agency (NTA) opened the correction window for the JEE Main Exam 2025 Session 1, providing a crucial opportunity for engineering aspirants across India to fine-tune their application details. Simultaneously, the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has officially released the much-awaited Class 10 Date Sheet for the 2026 matric exams, bringing clarity and relief to lakhs of students in Bihar. These twin announcements, though focused on different exams and regions, signal a pivotal moment in the academic calendar for students, parents, and educators alike.

The NTA’s announcement, as reported by Hindustan Times, marks the beginning of a short but significant window for JEE Main candidates. From December 1 to December 2, 2025, applicants can log in at jeemain.nta.nic.in and correct a wide range of details in their Session 1 application forms. The agency, which oversees one of the most competitive entrance exams in the country, has made it clear that this is a one-time facility. As the official notice puts it, “Since it is a one-time facility extended to the candidates to avoid any hardship, the candidates are advised to do the correction very carefully, as no further opportunity for correction will be given to the candidates.”

The scope of corrections allowed is impressively broad. Candidates can update their name, their father’s or mother’s name, Class 10 and Class 12 equivalent details, state code of eligibility, exam city preference, medium of examination, date of birth, gender, category, sub-category, signature, and Aadhaar details. However, any changes that require an additional fee must be settled immediately through Credit or Debit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.

For those unfamiliar with the process, the NTA has outlined a straightforward set of steps. Candidates should visit the official JEE Main website, click the registration link for Session 1, enter their login credentials, and review their application form. After making the necessary corrections, they must submit the revised form and download the confirmation page for their records. The agency stresses that after December 2, no further corrections—no matter how minor—will be entertained.

This correction window is more than just a procedural step; it’s a lifeline for students who may have made inadvertent errors during the high-pressure application period. Given the competitive nature of the JEE Main, even a small mistake in the application could have significant consequences. The NTA’s decision to offer this one-time correction opportunity reflects both the scale of the exam and the agency’s recognition of the stakes involved for students and their families.

While engineering aspirants are busy reviewing their applications, students in Bihar are turning their attention to the newly released Class 10 Date Sheet for 2026. According to the BSEB’s official announcement, the annual matric exams will be conducted from February 17 to February 25, 2026. The timetable, now available on biharboardonline.bihar.gov.in, outlines a packed schedule, with exams taking place in two shifts each day: the first from 9:30 AM to 12:45 PM, and the second from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM.

For many students, the release of the date sheet is a moment of both relief and urgency. As Times Now notes, the announcement allows students to “begin final revisions and prepare strategically for the upcoming board examinations.” With the dates now public, families across Bihar can plan study schedules, tuition sessions, and even travel arrangements with greater certainty.

The BSEB’s subject-wise timetable is comprehensive. The first day, February 17, is dedicated to Mother Tongue papers such as Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, and Maithili. Mathematics follows on February 18, while subsequent days cover a range of subjects including Social Science, Science, English (General), and a variety of elective subjects like Higher Mathematics, Commerce, Economics, Fine Arts, Home Science, Dance, and Music. The final day, February 25, is set aside for vocational courses, reflecting the board’s commitment to a broad-based curriculum.

In addition to the theory exams, the BSEB has scheduled practical exams from January 20 to January 22, 2026. Students are encouraged to download and print the official date sheet, which contains not only the subject-wise schedule but also important instructions, exam centre details, and special provisions for students with disabilities.

One of the most noteworthy aspects of the BSEB’s announcement is its attention to inclusivity. Special provisions have been made for visually impaired students, who will take Music and Home Science exams in place of the compulsory Mathematics and Science papers. The Home Science exam for these students is scheduled for February 18, while the Music exam will be held on February 21. Their performance in these substitute subjects will be officially assessed, ensuring a fair and equitable evaluation process. The board advises all students in this category to stay in close contact with their teachers and exam centres for the latest updates and guidelines.

The logistics of the exam season are formidable. Both the JEE Main and Bihar Board exams involve massive numbers of students, multiple venues, and strict adherence to timetables and protocols. For the JEE Main, the correction window is just one step in a long journey that includes admit card releases, exam day instructions, and eventually, the high-stakes test itself. For Bihar’s Class 10 students, the date sheet is the green light to accelerate their preparation, focus on weak areas, and ensure all paperwork and practical requirements are in order.

It’s not just about logistics and deadlines, though. These announcements carry emotional weight for students and families. The JEE Main is often described as a gateway to India’s top engineering institutes, and the pressure to perform can be immense. The correction window, brief as it is, offers a chance to correct course and avoid last-minute panic. In Bihar, the Class 10 board exams are a rite of passage, shaping academic futures and, for many, determining the next steps in their educational journeys.

As the academic calendar advances, both the NTA and BSEB are urging students to stay informed and act promptly. For JEE Main candidates, that means double-checking every detail in their application forms before the correction window closes on December 2. For Bihar board students, it means downloading the date sheet, planning revision strategies, and staying alert to any further updates from the board—especially those affecting practicals and special accommodations.

In the weeks ahead, the focus will shift from paperwork to preparation, and then, inevitably, to performance. For now, though, the message from both agencies is clear: seize the opportunity, pay attention to the details, and set yourself up for success. The next few months will be a test not just of knowledge, but of planning, resilience, and adaptability—qualities that will serve students well, whatever path they choose.
