Hemsworth Brothers Weigh Family Film Collaboration Hopes

Luke, Chris, and Liam Hemsworth discuss the challenges of working together on screen as busy schedules and family commitments keep a joint project just out of reach.

The Hemsworth brothers—Luke, Chris, and Liam—are household names in Hollywood, each carving out a distinct path through the entertainment industry. Yet, despite their individual successes and the tantalizing prospect of a family collaboration, fans shouldn’t hold their breath for a joint project just yet. According to recent interviews and media coverage from sources like Entertainment Weekly and E! News, the dream of seeing all three Hemsworths on screen together faces a formidable obstacle: Chris Hemsworth’s jam-packed schedule.

Luke Hemsworth, the eldest of the trio at 45, has been candid about his desire to work alongside his famous siblings. "I would love to do something," he told E! News, echoing sentiments he’s shared in multiple interviews. "And we've talked about it a lot. I think we all just need to find the right project." The enthusiasm is palpable, but so is the reality of their conflicting commitments—especially when it comes to Chris, whose star power in Hollywood seems to grow by the year.

"We need to get Chris booked in about two years in advance," Luke joked, highlighting the logistical challenge. "He's incredibly in demand." And he’s not wrong. Chris Hemsworth’s calendar is a maze of blockbuster films and promotional tours. Most recently, he starred opposite Monica Barbaro in the crime thriller Crime 101, which hit screens in February 2026. But that’s not all—he’s gearing up for another major release this December: Avengers: Doomsday, the latest installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where he reprises his iconic role as Thor.

Chris’s commitments aren’t just about his own career. The Hemsworth family’s next generation is also stepping into the limelight—sometimes with a bit of teenage reluctance. Chris’s daughter, India Rose Hemsworth, first appeared in 2022’s Thor: Love and Thunder. She’s set to return in Avengers: Doomsday, but as Chris explained on The View in February, the dynamic has changed now that she’s 13. "She’s now 13, so she’s a teenager, so a bit different to when we shot the other one," he said. "And she walks on set and she's like, 'Ugh, how long is this gonna take?’ I was like, ‘We haven’t even started!'" It’s a relatable moment for any parent, even one with a superhero alter-ego.

Luke, for his part, has built a solid career outside his brothers’ shadows. He starred in the 2024 action film Gunner alongside Morgan Freeman and brought a memorable presence to HBO’s sci-fi epic Westworld. Yet, he’s quick to joke about the sibling rivalry that persists off-screen. "Either of us getting each other to watch each other's stuff is the battle, that we face," he told E! News. "We're always like, 'Have you seen that yet?' 'Oh, no, I know. I'll get to it, man, I promise.'" The banter speaks to a genuine closeness—and perhaps a bit of good-natured procrastination.

Liam Hemsworth, the youngest brother, is no stranger to the spotlight either. He’s best known for his role as Gale in The Hunger Games franchise, a part that catapulted him to global fame. More recently, he took on the lead in season 4 of Netflix’s fantasy series The Witcher, stepping into the shoes of the title character after Henry Cavill’s departure. Liam’s career choices have shown both range and resilience, and his personal life has often made headlines as well. He was married to pop star Miley Cyrus from 2018 to 2020 and, as of 2026, is engaged to model Gabriella Brooks, whom he began dating in 2022.

Family has always been central to the Hemsworth story. Luke’s own household is bustling with four children—Holly (16), Ella (15), Harper (13), and Alexandre (12)—with his wife Samantha, whom he married in 2007. Like their famous father and uncles, the Hemsworth kids have displayed a spark for performance. "They have all shown some sort of interest” in acting, Luke revealed, but he’s not rushing them onto the big screen. "The youngest one keeps telling me that she wants to be an actor and I keep trying to discourage it as much as I can." He hopes they "get a bit more life experience" before following in his footsteps.

Chris’s family with wife Elsa Pataky, whom he married in 2010, is similarly involved in the movie world. India Rose and her twin brothers, Sasha and Tristan (both 12 as of 2026), have all appeared as extras in their father’s films. It’s a family affair, but one that’s carefully managed—Chris and Elsa seem intent on giving their children a taste of the industry without overwhelming them.

Despite their shared profession, the Hemsworth brothers have never appeared together in a major film or television project. There have been playful nods, however. In Thor: Love and Thunder, Luke made a cameo as an actor playing Thor, opposite Matt Damon’s actor portrayal of Loki—a cheeky in-joke for fans and family alike. Still, the prospect of a true on-screen collaboration remains elusive. "I would love to," Luke emphasized. "So if anyone wants to write something, then please, please come and see us." The invitation is open, but the reality is that aligning three busy schedules—especially Chris’s—may take years of planning and a script worthy of their combined talents.

As for the brothers’ viewing habits, Luke admits it’s a running joke. Getting each other to watch new projects is a challenge, with the familiar refrain: "Have you seen that yet?" met by "I'll get to it, man, I promise." It’s a dynamic many siblings can relate to, even if their day jobs involve red carpets and blockbuster premieres.

While fans may be disappointed that a Hemsworth family project isn’t on the immediate horizon, the brothers’ individual careers continue to flourish. Chris is set to dominate screens again with Avengers: Doomsday, Luke is fresh off his latest film Gunner, and Liam is making waves in The Witcher. Their children are waiting in the wings, perhaps destined to carry the Hemsworth legacy forward—once they’ve had a bit more life experience, of course.

For now, the Hemsworths remain a Hollywood powerhouse, balancing family, fame, and the ever-elusive possibility of a long-awaited collaboration. If and when it happens, the world will be watching.
