Harrison Ford And Calista Flockhart Shine At Emmys

The longtime couple make a rare red carpet appearance as Ford celebrates his first Emmy nomination for Shrinking, highlighting their enduring partnership and Hollywood success.

Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart lit up the red carpet at the 2025 Emmy Awards, held on September 14 at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles, marking a rare and much-anticipated appearance together. The couple, who have been married since 2010, looked closer than ever as they strolled hand-in-hand, smiling for cameras and soaking in the energy of television’s biggest night.

For Ford, 83, the evening was especially significant: it was his first-ever Emmy nomination. The veteran actor, known for iconic roles in films like Indiana Jones and Star Wars, was recognized for his performance as Dr. Paul Rhoades in the Apple TV+ comedy series Shrinking. According to Variety, Ford’s nomination in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series category was a long time coming, particularly after he was overlooked for the 2024 Emmys despite garnering Golden Globe, Critics Choice, and SAG Award nominations for the show’s first season.

Ford’s humility and gratitude shone through in his comments on the nomination. As he told Variety on the red carpet, “I don’t think there’s anything competitive about creativity, and I don’t understand the need to compare and contrast one person’s work to another’s. If you like it, you like it; if you don’t like it, look at something else.” He added, “I’m grateful, but I would have done what I did — and I’ll do what I’m doing — regardless of whether it’s deemed worthy of mention or not. Because it’s what I do. It’s what I love doing. I love telling stories. I love pretending to be somebody else.”

For the milestone occasion, Ford was dressed in a classic Armani tuxedo, exuding old Hollywood charm. Flockhart, 60, stunned in a full-sleeved, floor-length ball gown featuring a black top and a black-and-silver striped skirt, paired with black pumps and a sparkling diamond necklace. Her sandy hair was tucked neatly behind her ears, completing the elegant look. Us Weekly noted how the couple’s warmth was palpable as they held hands and shared smiles, a testament to their enduring bond.

Their appearance together was a reunion of sorts. According to Town & Country, it had been nearly a year since Ford and Flockhart last walked a red carpet together—their previous joint appearance was at the premiere of Shrinking season two in October 2024. At the delayed 2023 Emmys, Flockhart had walked the carpet solo, ahead of an Ally McBeal reunion, but Ford joined her during the ceremony. Their return as a duo at the 2025 Emmys delighted fans and photographers alike.

The love story between Ford and Flockhart began at the 2002 Golden Globe Awards, where they first met. After seven years of dating, Ford proposed in February 2009, and the couple married the following year in a ceremony at the governor’s mansion in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Ford also adopted Flockhart’s son, Liam, who was born in 2001, further cementing their family ties.

Despite their fame, the couple has largely kept their relationship private. Yet, on occasion, Ford has offered heartfelt glimpses into their dynamic. At the 2024 Critics Choice Awards, while accepting his Career Achievement honor, he openly thanked Flockhart for her unwavering support, saying, “I want to thank my lovely wife, who supports me when I need a lot of support. I need a lot of support.” He added, “I’m deeply happy to have had the opportunities that I’ve had and I’m grateful.”

Ford’s appreciation for Flockhart was echoed at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, where he told the crowd, “My life has been enabled by my lovely wife, who has supported my passion and my dreams, and I’m grateful.” Turning to Flockhart, he added, “You’ve given my life purpose and meaning and I’m grateful for that, so grateful.”

In a candid interview on NPR’s Wild Card with Rachel Martin in August 2025, Ford reflected on the nature of love and longevity in relationships, offering a touch of humor. “You know, you think about falling in love and all of that business. You think it’s the business of youth or something, you know, and staying in love is the issue. Maintaining, nurturing, basically, not f--king up.” He continued, “Couples work on their relationships every day—with some days off for bad behavior.”

While their romance is a quiet one, Ford and Flockhart have not ruled out working together on screen. Ford told Variety earlier this year, “If we get to work together, we’d want it to be someone else’s idea. That kind of casting might not be the best way to bring people into an imagined situation, because [audiences] may say, ‘Oh, I know they’re married; now I’m not even thinking about the movie anymore.’”

The 2025 Emmys were also a celebration of Ford’s recent projects. Shrinking aired its second season in fall 2024 and was a critical and popular success. The series received a total of six nominations at this year’s Emmys, including nods for Ford’s co-stars Michael Urie (Supporting Actor), Jason Segel (Lead Actor), and Jessica Williams (Supporting Actress), as well as Outstanding Comedy Series. The show faced stiff competition from the likes of Abbott Elementary, The Bear, Hacks, Nobody Wants This, Only Murders in the Building, The Studio, and What We Do in the Shadows. Ford’s other series, Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone spinoff 1923, also picked up two nominations at the 2025 Creative Arts Emmys for Outstanding Period Costumes and Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Period or Fantasy Program, although it lost out to Bridgerton and Andor, respectively.

Asked by Variety whether he had a speech prepared in case of a win, Ford quipped, “I’m not running for anything. I guess you say, ‘Thank you.’ Don’t you just say thank you?” It’s a typically understated response from an actor who, despite a career stacked with accolades, remains refreshingly grounded.

As the night unfolded, Ford and Flockhart’s presence served as a reminder that, in Hollywood, some partnerships only grow stronger with time. Their affection, respect, and humor—on full display at the Emmys—resonated with fans and peers alike, offering a rare glimpse into the personal side of two beloved stars.

With Shrinking continuing to earn acclaim and their relationship as strong as ever, Ford and Flockhart’s Emmy night was more than a red carpet moment—it was a celebration of enduring love, professional achievement, and the joy of sharing life’s milestones together.
