Emiru Accuses Mizkif Of Assault And Threats In 2025

Twitch streamer Emiru alleges sexual assault, abuse, and intimidation by Mizkif following her own assault at TwitchCon, prompting community outrage and calls for action.

On October 25, 2025, the world of online streaming was rocked by a series of grave allegations from Twitch streamer Emily Beth Schunk—better known as Emiru—against fellow streamer and YouTuber Matthew Rinaudo, widely recognized as Mizkif. In a livestream that has since sent shockwaves through the gaming and streaming communities, Emiru accused Mizkif of sexual assault, psychological and domestic abuse, stalking, harassment, and threats of blackmail. The disclosure followed closely on the heels of Emiru’s own assault by a fan at TwitchCon 2025 in San Diego, creating a perfect storm of controversy and concern about safety, accountability, and power dynamics within the streaming world.

During her livestream, Emiru spoke candidly and emotionally to her viewers, stating, "Today I'm finally going to be opening up about the psychological and domestic abuse, stalking and harassment, sexual assault, and threats of blackmail that Mizkif has done towards me and some of these issues which are still ongoing." According to The Economic Times, Emiru recounted a specific incident that had a profound impact on her: "We hadn't talked in a while…he started kissing me, and I let him. Suddenly, he tried to climb on top of me. I screamed, and he jumped off. He said, 'I feel weird now, like I did something wrong,' and then immediately left without checking if I was okay." She added further detail, describing how she was crying at the time and felt uncomfortable but allowed Mizkif to hold her. The situation escalated when, "he tried to climb on top of me and aggressively shoved his hand down my pants, and I screamed. And when I screamed, he jumped off me, like a cat, and instead of apologizing and checking if I was ok, he said, 'I feel weird now, I feel like I did something wrong, I have to go.' And he immediately left my house while I was still crying."

Emiru’s account didn’t stop at the physical incident. She described a pattern of intimidation and manipulation that she says continued long after she tried to cut off contact. As reported by India Times, Emiru stated, "For a while, he has been indirectly threatening me through my friends and people that I work with. They've informed me that he said that if I ever talked about anything he did, he would try to create a smear campaign against me in retaliation." She claimed that Mizkif even approached other streamers who were close to both of them, seeking allies for a potential smear campaign—efforts which, according to Emiru, were rebuffed by those approached. She further alleged that at TwitchCon, Mizkif directly threatened one of her employees, warning that if she spoke out, he would "destroy" her.

Providing additional context, Emiru revealed that she had spent the past year distancing herself from Mizkif, focusing on rebuilding her life and support network. "I’ve spent the last year of my life cutting him off and building a new life with people that actually care about me. I’ve been trying to move on peacefully without causing any drama. I did not want to do this, but it’s clear I need to speak up," she said during her livestream. Screenshots of messages allegedly sent by Mizkif after she broke off communication were shown during the stream, demonstrating his repeated attempts to reestablish contact and resume their relationship.

Emiru’s decision to speak out was catalyzed by her experience at TwitchCon 2025. On October 17, during a meet-and-greet event in San Diego, a man bypassed security barriers and forcibly grabbed her face in an attempt to kiss her. Emiru’s personal security intervened, but she criticized the event staff’s response as slow and inadequate. She later wrote, "In Twitch's statement they said that the guy was immediately caught and detained, I'm sorry but that is a blatant lie. He was allowed to walk away from my meet and greet and I didn't hear he was caught until hours after he attacked me, and it felt like this only happened because of my manager pressing for it, not because TwitchCon staff present thought it was a big deal." She announced plans to press charges against the assailant, adding that Twitch initially considered only a 30-day suspension for the individual before, after her objections, issuing an indefinite ban.

Emiru’s allegations against Mizkif are not the first time his name has surfaced in controversy. As detailed by The Economic Times, Mizkif—born February 16, 1995, in Montclair, New Jersey—has been a prominent figure in the streaming community since 2016, amassing over 2 million Twitch followers and more than 1 million YouTube subscribers. He is a founding member of One True King (OTK), a gaming organization, and has been recognized for his popular Just Chatting streams, gaming content, and live events. In 2022, Mizkif faced accusations of covering up an alleged sexual assault by his roommate CrazySlick against streamer AdrianahLee. The controversy led to a temporary leave from OTK, and a third-party investigation by the law firm Jackson Walker found "no direct evidence that Mizkif attempted to minimize or cover up sexual assault, as alleged." Mizkif was later reinstated. However, the shadows of past allegations linger, especially in light of the new claims brought by Emiru.

As of October 26, 2025, Mizkif has not publicly responded to the latest accusations. Neither he nor OTK leadership have issued statements regarding Emiru’s claims. The silence has only fueled calls from community members and fans for Twitch to take decisive action, with many demanding that Mizkif be banned from the platform. Social media has erupted in debate, with some expressing support for Emiru’s courage in coming forward, while others await formal responses from the accused and the organizations involved.

Emiru, meanwhile, has taken concrete steps to protect herself, announcing her intention to pursue restraining orders against Mizkif in both California and Texas. She has also reaffirmed her commitment to seeking justice against the man who assaulted her at TwitchCon. "I did not want to do this, but it’s clear I need to speak up," she reiterated, underscoring the emotional toll and the sense of responsibility she feels toward her own safety and that of others in the community.

The allegations have reignited broader conversations about the safety of streamers—especially women—at major events, the adequacy of corporate responses to harassment and assault, and the persistent challenges faced by those who come forward with accusations against powerful figures in the industry. As the story continues to unfold, the streaming world waits for answers, accountability, and, perhaps, a reckoning with the culture that allowed such allegations to surface in the first place.

The situation remains fluid, with Emiru’s legal actions pending and the community’s calls for change growing louder. For now, the silence from Mizkif and OTK only adds to the uncertainty and intensity surrounding a saga that has already left a deep mark on the world of online entertainment.
