Cruz Beckham Stirs Family Feud With Viral Instagram Like

After Brooklyn Beckham’s public accusations against his mother Victoria, Cruz’s social media activity and family absences highlight a deepening rift within the Beckham clan.

Family drama is nothing new in the world of celebrities, but the Beckhams have taken it to a new level—one that’s playing out in public, on social media, and in the press. The latest chapter unfolded on January 20, 2026, when Cruz Beckham, the youngest son of Victoria and David Beckham, liked a throwback video poking fun at his mother’s alleged "inappropriate" dancing at his brother Brooklyn Beckham’s wedding. The move, subtle but telling, has only added fuel to a feud that’s been simmering for years and is now boiling over for all to see.

The video in question, which was shared by the gossip site Culture Enquirer, features Victoria Beckham performing her 2001 single "I’m Not Such An Innocent Girl" at the TMF Awards. According to Page Six, the performance was full of energetic, suggestive choreography—hip swinging, shimmying, and even caressing her thighs and backside—while she donned a black leather halter top and matching low-rise pants. The meme’s caption, "the wedding video in question," referenced Brooklyn’s recent public accusation that his mother "hijacked" his first dance with wife Nicola Peltz at their 2022 wedding and "danced very inappropriately" on him.

Brooklyn, now 26, took to Instagram Stories on January 19, 2026, with a six-page statement that stunned fans and family alike. "In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me," he wrote, confirming earlier Page Six reporting about the "jaw-dropping" moment. "She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life." Two sources confirmed to Page Six the existence of video footage of Victoria dancing with Brooklyn at the wedding, though Brooklyn and Nicola reportedly own the footage and have no plans to release it.

The fallout from that night has been profound. According to E! News, Nicola Peltz was reportedly in tears after Marc Anthony unexpectedly called Victoria to the stage for the dance, instead of Brooklyn and Nicola's planned romantic moment. A source told E! News in May 2025, “Nicola left the room crying. She eventually came back and was able to collect herself to celebrate the rest of her wedding.” The incident, while not disastrous enough to prevent David from being best man at Marc Anthony’s wedding in 2023, left a mark on the bride and groom.

Brooklyn’s January 2026 social media statement went further than just the wedding incident. He accused his parents of controlling "narratives in the press about our family" and claimed they canceled Nicola’s wedding dress at the last minute, forcing her to urgently find a new one. Nicola, who ultimately wore Valentino Couture instead of a Victoria Beckham design, addressed the rumors in Variety in August 2022, saying, “I was going to and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realized that her atelier couldn’t do it, so then I had to pick another dress. She didn’t say you can’t wear it; I didn’t say I didn’t want to wear it. That’s where it started, and then they ran with that.”

In the wake of all this, Brooklyn and Nicola chose to renew their vows in August 2025. As Brooklyn explained, it was so they could "create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment." The couple has also hired a lawyer, Jenny Afi of U.K. law firm Schillings, to "set the record straight, combat spread of misinformation"—a move confirmed by sources to E! News. Notably, Schillings has also represented Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, though the Beckhams’ connection to the Sussexes is reportedly coincidental.

Meanwhile, Cruz Beckham hasn’t shied away from wading into the family drama. On January 19 and 20, 2026, he liked not only the throwback video but also a comedic Instagram Reel from comedian Olly Hume, who pretended to be the DJ at Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding and feigned shock as the song "Pony" by Ginuwine began to play—captioned, “Interesting moves Victoria.” Fans were quick to notice Cruz’s online activity. Comments ranged from "@cruzbeckham liked this?😂" to "GUYS CRUZ LIKED IT 😭😭😭😭😭."

Yet, Cruz has also defended his parents publicly. When rumors swirled in December 2025 that the family had unfollowed Brooklyn and Nicola on Instagram, Cruz shot back, "NOT TRUE. My mum and dad would never unfollow their son..Let’s get the facts right. They woke up blocked…as did I." That same month, he also corrected speculation about Brooklyn’s relationship with brother Romeo’s girlfriend, writing, “Brooklyn and Kim never dated.”

The family’s public appearances—or lack thereof—have only added to the intrigue. Nicola Peltz was notably absent from Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday bash in April 2024, choosing instead to spend time with her grandmother, who passed away weeks later. Brooklyn and Nicola were also missing from David Beckham’s 50th birthday celebration in May 2025, despite reportedly traveling to England in hopes of seeing him. According to E! News, Brooklyn ultimately skipped the party because he didn’t want to see Romeo’s then-girlfriend, DJ Kim Turnbull.

Despite these tensions, there have been moments of unity. All the Beckhams, including Brooklyn and Nicola, spent Christmas 2024 together, with Victoria sharing family photos and writing, "Being together for the holidays makes me so happy xxxx I love you all so much." However, by Christmas 2025, Brooklyn chose to spend the holidays with Nicola’s family, and David’s New Year’s Eve recap omitted any photos of his eldest son or daughter-in-law—though he later posted a throwback with Brooklyn, writing, "I love you all so much."

The family rift has been further highlighted by absences at major milestones. Brooklyn and Nicola did not publicly comment when David received a knighthood in November 2025, nor did they attend when David’s soccer team Inter Miami CF won the MLS Cup in December 2025. Brooklyn’s January 2026 statement made his feelings clear: “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.” He also alleged that his parents have long cared only about "Brand Beckham" and have tried to "ruin" his and Nicola’s relationship. Brooklyn added that while he grew up with anxiety, since distancing himself from his family, he’s felt "peace and relief."

For her part, Victoria Beckham has largely avoided public comment on the feud, but she did describe Brooklyn’s 2022 wedding as "a beautiful wedding" on the TODAY show, saying, “As a mother, to see my son so happy means so much. What more can you ask for?”

As the Beckhams’ private struggles continue to spill into the public eye, fans and onlookers are left wondering what comes next for one of Britain’s most famous families. For now, the only certainty is that the world is watching—and the Beckhams’ story is far from over.
