AngryGinge Triumphs In I’m A Celebrity 2025 Finale

Morgan Burtwistle, known as AngryGinge, wins the ITV reality show after a dramatic final, capturing 65 percent of the public vote and delighting fans across the UK.

In a dramatic and often hilarious finale, 24-year-old Mancunian content creator Morgan Burtwistle—better known to his legion of fans as AngryGinge—was crowned king of the jungle on December 7, 2025, clinching victory in ITV’s I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! after three grueling weeks in the Australian wilderness. The win, which saw AngryGinge secure a commanding 65% of the public vote, capped off a season packed with unexpected twists, stomach-churning challenges, and a healthy dose of northern banter.

“I feel amazing. Honestly, [it is a] dream come true,” an elated AngryGinge declared after hosts Ant and Dec announced his triumph in the show’s 25th regular series, according to BBC News. “I did not think I’d go all this way, never mind win, so thank you to everyone who voted.” His victory was all the sweeter considering the stiff competition: runner-up Tom Read Wilson, the affable Celebs Go Dating receptionist, charmed viewers and judges alike, earning 35% of the final vote. Shona McGarty, former EastEnders star, rounded out the top three after being eliminated earlier in the evening.

The grand finale, watched live by an estimated 6.4 million viewers—just shy of Strictly Come Dancing’s 6.6 million on BBC One that same night—was a showcase of courage and camaraderie. Each finalist faced a bespoke Bushtucker Trial, the infamous gauntlet of revolting and terrifying tasks that’s become the show’s signature. Shona braved the “Rat Race,” retrieving four stars with her mouth in a confined box teeming with rats and insects. Tom tackled the “Bushtucker Bonanza,” downing a fermented duck egg (in one go, a show first after 25 years), camel’s brain, pig’s vagina, and a huntsman spider—eliciting a stunned “Oh! We’ve never had that!” from Ant. AngryGinge’s “Helmets of Hell” trial saw him endure wave after wave of mealworms, toads, cockroaches, lizards, scorpions, snakes, rats, and—his admitted horror—spiders. All three completed their trials, earning a lavish 12-star banquet for the camp.

That celebratory meal was as eclectic as the campmates themselves. Shona chose Diet Coke and prawns pil pil to start, then boiled bacon and cabbage, finishing with chocolate fudge cake and double cream. Tom opted for smoked salmon, venison with red wine jus and dauphinoise potatoes, and a chocolate fudge cake dessert. AngryGinge, true to his roots, went for a double cheeseburger and chips, pepperoni pizza with chicken tenders, and capped it all off with a generous slice of carrot cake. “No one said it was going to be that hard. I’m so glad I done it though,” AngryGinge reflected in his exit interview, as reported by The Independent.

This year’s series, which kicked off in November with over 10 million viewers (ITV’s biggest audience since Euro 2024, according to BBC News), featured the usual parade of celebrities braving parachute jumps, crawling through slime, and facing off with crocodiles. The 2025 season introduced a new rule: no contestant could be voted to do more than two consecutive Bushtucker Trials, a move designed to “give all campmates the opportunity to shine.” The result? A more balanced, and arguably more entertaining, spread of suffering and success across the cast.

The lineup was a who’s who of British entertainment and sports, including rapper Aitch—who, despite being the bookmakers’ favorite, was eliminated just before the final. “I love Shona to death. If she gets it, she more than deserves it. Same with Tom, what a legend he is. But that crown needs to be taken back to my hometown [Manchester], so I pick Ginge,” Aitch said, showing both sportsmanship and hometown pride. Other contestants included comedian Ruby Wax, model Kelly Brook, TV personality Jack Osbourne, football pundit Alex Scott, Spandau Ballet’s Martin Kemp, presenter Vogue Williams, and Emmerdale’s Lisa Riley.

Shona McGarty, reflecting on her time in camp, described herself as an “older sister” to Aitch, noting, “He’s normal, he’s down to earth, we’ve had a similar upbringing. I felt like an older sister and I wanted to protect him.” She also laughed off her “very brief” reign as camp leader, which ended in the now-infamous “butter scandal.” “I saw my opportunity and I took it,” she admitted to Ant and Dec, adding with a grin, “Ginge, he got away with murder.”

The Mancunian flavor of the series was not lost on viewers or politicians. Deputy Labour leader and Manchester Central MP Lucy Powell took to social media to congratulate the winner, writing, “It was a Mancunian series and Manchester prevailed. Well done Ginge (and Aitch and co).” The sentiment was echoed by many on social media, with one X (formerly Twitter) user noting, “Regardless who wins tonight I think this has been one of the best camps in a while.” Another praised Tom Read Wilson for defying expectations: “I thought he was going to be a primadonna, a moaner, an overreactive crybaby. I was wrong—and refreshingly so. One of the most supportive, kind-hearted, and down-to-earth campmates we’ve had in ages, with a hint of elegance and poise. A real gentleman.”

For AngryGinge, the win was the culmination of a journey that began with football rants and comedic sketches posted online. He first exploded in popularity in 2021 with a fictional meltdown about struggling to get chips on a night out, and has since amassed 1.4 million followers as one of the UK’s top streamers. His sister, Tasha Burtwistle, revealed that appearing on I’m A Celebrity was a “bucket list” dream for him. In the jungle, he continued his trademark rants about Manchester United—reacting with characteristic outrage upon learning they’d lost to Everton while he was away—and won over viewers with practical jokes, banter with Aitch, and a healthy disregard for washing dishes or resisting sweet treats.

Whether it was the new rules, the diverse cast, or simply the chemistry of the campmates, this year’s I’m A Celebrity struck a chord with viewers and critics alike. While The Telegraph only gave the final a two-star review, the online community was abuzz with praise and excitement. The Twitch community, in particular, celebrated AngryGinge’s win, cementing his status as a cross-platform star.

As the jungle clears and the campfire embers die down, AngryGinge returns to Manchester not just as a social media sensation, but as the reigning king of the jungle—proof, perhaps, that a good rant, a sense of humor, and a willingness to face your fears (and a few spiders) can take you all the way.
